Can I get an answer that doesn't involve VCN, DCPH, a Computer Science degree or an intimate knowledge of the internal workings of my router please. I got the SS on the basis that it was a simple plug-it-in-and-it'll-work pitch from you guys and now it turns out it's not nearly that simple!
Can you help?

Hi,
I received a new SureSignal on 13/05/11, and it still currently has only the power light on. If you cycle the power, the 2 other lights flash for a while then go out. I have been thropugh the troubleshooting guide and carried out the following steps:Confirmed the SS is being allocated a local IP by the router, confirmed I can trace roure as far as the Vodafone servers(59mS RTT), run speedtest (6.3Mbps down, 0.33 up), Forwarded ports 8, 50, 123, 500, 4500 (and now I have assigned it to a DMZ) and confirmed that the SS is registered with VF (the dashboard lists it as Status active ). I have re-set my router, although I believe the same IP will have been allocated.
My ISP is PlusNet, with fairly typical speed for a Market 1 exchange.
My router is a BT HomeHub 2
My SS serial numbner is 40111324253
Any update of the status would be appriciated, and if there is some form of reset to be done from the VF side, now would be a good time to do it.

Ive have SS for about 9 onths now.
Had issues when first purchased and it was reaplced.
Been fine until last week, then power light only on.
Now flashing but nothing else.
I have spoken to VF help guys but so far with no solution.
Rebooted everything on numerous occassions, new router firmware, you name it, I've tried it - stil lno good.
Maybe its me, but why are these things so unreliable??
Can VF help. I've replied to an email from Fabio Garcea, but still no replay and no service.
Using Draytek 2820 router on Talk Talk Business
Please help before this goes in the bin and I move to a provider with a decent signal in my area

Looks to me like there is something pretty fundamentally going wrong at the WF end which they are masking with a load of dodgy troubleshooting instructions. Bottom line is if it was working and no isn't either your box has packed in our it's an issue at the VF end. Given the host of issues reported here it looks to me like the latter and I wish they would man up and tell us what's going on.

I have had my sure signal for over a year and not had any real problems apart from the occasional loss of signal but it always recovers.
Today it has been down for a very long time with just a constant slow flashing power light, I have read all the instructions and restarted both the hub and suresignal a few times but it has no effect. I am sure after it working for over a year it cannot be something in the settings
However I see you are doing upgrades and wonder if this is what has upset mine?
My hub a BT2 shows the sure signal as connected and I have no problems with my broadband connection.

Plugged in my new SS on Monday, worked fine for about a day then started to keep "dropping" connection..i.e. both system and phone lights flashing then ok again for a few minutes, then flashing lights again. BT have opened all ports on my BTHomehub2 and now all I have is a solid red power light. A rest on my SS just produces flashing system/phone lights for several minutes then back to solid red power light only. Have waited 24hours and now am becoming seriously fed up. I specifically asked the sales person in the VF shop how easy/difficult these units were to install and whether they were reliable, the answer being "easy and reliable"!!.
I have a BTHomehub2-TTKF V2 type B. My SS serial number is 40111013799.
What do I do now???
Kind regards

Is anyone from VF at work today?????
I have been a loyal VF customer for about 10 years now, but this is about to change!
Please provide me with a course of action which doesn't include a degree in Computer Science, I need a resolution today!!
Why are VF selling these units which obviously have serious technical issues and little on NO support?????
Why aren't they just a simple plug in device that will continue to work uniteruppted for years???????
Very cheesed off from Surrey

After 24 hours plus of phonecalls to both VF and my ISP my SS2 was still not working after numerous reboots etc.etc.etc.etc.
However, I have just picked up on a post on another thread with advised, deregistering and reregistering the SS2, which I have just completed. I then switched back on my SS and it went through a complete and sucessfull reboot and I'm now looking at a solid system light and a max signal on my phone, a result, lets hope it stays that way!

I have tried everything for the last 2 weeks, all of your suggestions including manually assigning the IP address etc and I have used the instructions on the port forwarding website. The animal is still not working!
My router is a D-Link wireless DSL-G624T and my IP is Virginmedia. My suresignal is properly registered as is my Blackberry. My sure signal MAC code is 50 67 f0 52 a72 2a and the serial number is 40110746092. Please can you help!

Regards to my other post here Suresignal has now not worked for 11days! ![]()
I recieved 1 of the 2 New versions of the suresignalsl today
After 10 mins the power light is steady and the signal + calls lights stopped flashing
meaning the suresignal could not connect to vodafone after contacting techinal support who tryed telling me to reset it and leave it a few hours!
I do fully understand how these units work and its so annoying when i call tech support and they try and palm me off with this useless info and must assume im thick or something!
I am in no way having a go at the staff on eforum here who have given excellent support since i bought my suresignal over 14months ago the comment i made was purely aimed at tech support only!
All i am asking from tech support is simple question have they any idea when this will be resolved?
kind regards
Digi

Hi Wayne ive had this since the 18th now and ive followed all of the suggestions with luck. Sure signal support over the phone still say there are no problems with sure signals and wont acknowledge this forum as proof and just want to blame my isp.
My serial no. is 21231787140. Ive 3 contract phones that are useless atm and i need mine for work callouts. Is there any eta for a fix and what is the problem with them. It was fine since Feb and now the update as knackered it.
