Supposed "maintenance period"...it is real?

After recently upgrading my phone, for four weeks I couldn't receive imessages because there was "maintenance work" in my area, so for a month i had to downgrade my phones mobile coverage to 2G every day when returning home to receive text messages. Now my sure signal v1 box has suddenly stopped working, so my wife and I (who I have recommended join vodafone a month ago so we can benefit from some savings on our contracts) can't receive any signal which we rely on in our area. low and behold, after waiting for hours to speak to someone on chat I've been told there is "maintainence work" which started yesterday!

My sure signal box stopped working over a week ago so I doubt it is that. It seems like that is just used as an excuse. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The sure signal option on 191 just cuts off tonight because of an emergency, and after a chat person contacting me to tell me she was putting me through to the suresignal team, they put me through so someone who then told me the suresignal team is closed.

I live in SE1 postcode, is anyone else experiencing these problems with the box? I've tried resetting it, changed the power line, everything.

A recent forum announcement https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Announcements/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/td-p/2449241

Do you use Virgin as your ISP ?

If so a few people are experiencing issues as per http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/Sure-Signal-V3-not-working-even-after-resetting/...

As you've recently upgraded perhaps de register your number  and then re register after a period of 24 hours.

Please take a look through these Sure Signal Trouble Shooting threads :

as these may help to resolve issues. They have links to the key things you can do to try and self resolve the issue you are experiencing.

It may also be worth trying a different power supply with the SureSignal (Version 1 & 2 ), as there have been some reports of replacement power supplies solving the issues. They are available on eBay for around £10.

To note the Sure Signal Device comes with a 24 month warranty.
