Sure Signal 2 - System light flashing

SimonOA

Hi,

Ive recently changed to a sure signal 2, from a 3 as my broadband provider has changed and upload speeds are slower - apparently the 3 cant handle below 1.5Mb ish

Having registered the device and forwarded ports on the router as per various instructions, all I am still getting is the system light continuously flashing.

We have a point to point wireless broadband - not ADSL and not satellite and after a call to customer service last week I was instructed to setup the router for the following.

PPTP Passthrough Enabled

VPN Passthrough Enabled

IPSec Passthrough Enabled

MTU 1480 up to 1500

This had to be done by the broadband company as the routers are not avialable to end users - My intenral netgear is for the port forwarding, but not the 'external' wireless one on the house.

My sure signal serial is as follows 40120209362.

If anyone has any thoughts or is able to see anything at the vodafone end I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks again - I'll wait for an update

Hi @SimonOA,

I can see that your Sure Signal connected to our system last night.

Are you still facing issues?

Thanks,

Matt B

Hi Matt,

Thanks for coming back to me, I will have to check when home this evening.

Are the tests I provided and things at your end looking ok?

Was last night the first connection from this box?

Thanks

Nothing has changed.  The system light is still flasghing - any update?

Thanks

Hi SimonOA,

The results are looking good for what you’ve provided us.

Please make sure the following is updated:

Ports to be opened for forwarding

  • 8 (TCP & UDP)
  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall

  • 183.133.177-179
  • 183.133.181-182
  • 183.131.128-191

I can see it's registered successfully, so once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset:

  • Unplug the Ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi,

This has been done and still the same.

Are you able to see any info from your end other than it has been registered?

Can you see connection to my device in any way?

Thanks

Hi @SimonOA ,

Thanks for confirming. I can see your device made a connection to our servers just after 8am yesterday. Has the light sequence changed in any way at all?

Thanks,

Ben

The light sequence is the same - still flashing!

What does 'a connection' at your end mean...? That my phone has connected, or just the box has connected?

My phone occasionally picks up 3G and sometimes it has nothing at all in the same place but I've no way of knowing if the box is sort of working but the lights system is poor, or if it manages to pick up some signal in our area.
