Solution

Sure Signal 3 and BTHomehub 5

Power light on.  Lights 1 and 2 white and solid.  No decent vodafone signal.

Been having trouble since change to BTHomeHub 5 which I would rather keep.

Have opened the ports required - according to other posts here (I think).  Have turned on port clamping.

I use various computers but the main one is a Macbook pro with iOSX

Here is the output from a traceroute;

Who can help?  Thanks.

For a consumer electronic product this level of home tweaking seems ludicrous to me but I am keen to get my phone back.  The alternative is to change networks I suppose.  There should be no reason for it not to work.

Thanks.  In fact, for some unexplainable reason, I reset the SS this weekend and it's now working.  perhaps it knew somehow that I was about to trash it!  All happy now.

Hi cliveshelton

I've checked and can see you're on the latest software.

It also appears that you've connected since posting, are you still experiencing difficulties?

If you are, is it possible to try on a different connection such as at a friend or family members?

DaveCD

Still having difficulties.  Red light on and 2 whites.  No significant vodafone signal on any phones even when they are in the same room as SureSignal.

Will try next door and let you know what happens.

I presume this is to check that it really is a wifi router issue.

It turns out that BOTH my neighbours have VF SureSignal devices.  One connected to a Sky router and the other to another provider (not BT, dont know the provider).  They both work in their houses.  Therefore we know that SS works with their providers.  One SS is the same as mine, the other is an older version.  I didnt try miy SS attached to either of their routers.  Do I still need to do this to check my SS connects?  If so I will do that.  Do I need to disconnect the working SS first or can I connect mine in addition to the one already connected?

Thanks.

Hi cliveshelton

I'd recommend that you connect your SS to your friend’s router, this will help us establish whether or not it's faulty.

Thanks
