Sure Signal - 4 Handsets Registered, 1 Handset Fails

Stixy
4: Newbie

I have a Sure Signal v2 at my parents house with 4 phones (Vodafone), registered, 3 phone connect ok with full signal strength, but one phone fails to get full signal. I have deregistered/registered the phone in question, also carried out a hard reset of the sure signal, but this has made no difference at all. What else can be done? I can confirm that the phone has connected to the sure signal in the past.

Hi Stixy,

Thanks for posting your results. Looking at your speedtest, you don't currently have the minimum speeds required for Sure Signal to run correctly. You'll need at least 4.13Mbps download and 0.37Mbps upload moving forward so I'd speak to the ISP about increasing the current speed. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

If it was that simple Ben, my parents are using Sky's Connect service and at peak times Sky throttle back the bandwidth. So that will be a No. But what I cannot get my head around , is that a couple of months ago all 4 phones registered, had full signal strength.

Hi Stixy, Your speeds are not the best but if all has worked previously then it should still work. Can i ask what make/model phone is stuggling to connect ?

Hi cphilpot, it's a iPhone 3GS that cannot connect.

Have you tried a network settings reset then a soft reset on your device, this usually solves the issue on iPhone not being able to connect.

Worth a try, I'll will let you know later.

Hi Stixy,

Sky may still be able to let you (or your parents) know if your speeds have decreased in the time it's taken for these things to happen. Posting another speedtest result here during a time out would be handy to see if it doesn’t drop below the minimum at peak times too.

Let us know when you've had a chance to test cphilpot's advice above too. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben
