Sure Signal- Power Light on Red and flashing first light- nothing else

RachRich160
3: Seeker
3: Seeker

Our Sure Signal has been working fine until last week, now the red light is on and the first light is flashing.

I have just called through to Vodafone who told me i they would send me a text with what to do, to call BT and ask them to check the ports, i did this and they said they do not support this?!!

So, now i am stuck! What should I do?

Would a firewall block access to Sure Signal?

Thanks

Rachel

Hi guys,

Thanks for your posts.

RachRich160 - I can see your Sure Signal hasn't connected to the servers for over 10 days. I've pushed a resync through for you.

To complete this follow the steps below:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

LeonardScott - Is everything ok for you now?

If you do need anymore help, please let us know.

Thanks.

Hi Rachel,

Take a look at our
Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread. We'll see if we can spot what's causing this from here. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

Thanks for your response. I have a Sure Signal 3 box.

Unfortunately the colour sequence im seeing is not registered:

Power light- On and Solid

Internet light- flashing slowly

Other two lights- not visible.

What does that indicate?

thanks for coming back to me

Rachel

Hi RachRich160,

Please follow provide the details in the link that Ben has provided above.

These statistics will allow us to see exactly what's happening with your Sure Signal.

Thanks,

Matt B

Hi,

We are seeing Call Failed on our mobiles,we have pressed the restart button on the bottom of the Sure Signal 3 box and still not having any luck. We have done this 4 times over the course of the weekend.

As i mentioned its been working fine up until a week ago and now the following light sequence (which is not shown in the thread to the link) is showing:

1) Power Light- Red and staying on.

2) Internet Light- Flashing occasionally and then off.

3) In Service Light- not on at all

4) In use button- not on at all.

We brought the box in October and we rely on it here for both our businesses, as long term customers of vodafone we really need to get the service up and running again.

Our Three mobile signal box is outstanding and we never experience any problems.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your help

Rachel

I am experiencing the same problem after my SS3 working without major issues for over a year. Since last niight the red power light is on and the Internet light is white flashing. As Rachel has pointed out this light sequence is not mentioned in the list of options for troubleshooting.

I also have tried resetting my SS but this has made no difference.

So help, please.

Ken

After more than 12 hours flahing away (Internet connection light) it seems to have connected. Methinks that a Vodafone SS server must have been down, perhaps.

Ken

We still having problems here.

Same lights, still trying to connect to the internet.

Some signal but calls failing....

Glad you have some signal Ken.

Hi guys,

Our Sure Signal box used to at least allow us to send and receive sms, as well as receive and make calls, now we are in the same situation as RachRich160 and kenv, Sure Signal- Power Light on Red and flashing first light- nothing else...

Game or Application Definition
A game or application is made of one or more TCP/UDP port ranges. Each incoming port range can be translated into a different internal (local network) port range. Port ranges can be statically assigned to devices or dynamically assigned using an outgoing trigger.

Protocol Port Range Translate To ... Trigger Protocol Trigger Port

UDP 4500 - 4500 4500 - 4500 - -

UDP 500 - 500 500 - 500 - -

UDP 123 - 123 123 - 123 - -

UDP 8 - 8 8 - 8 - -

TCP 50 - 50 50 - 50 - -

UDP 50 - 50 50 - 50 - -

TCP 1723 - 1723 1723 - 1723 - -

UDP 1723 - 1723 1723 - 1723 - -

I have tested the configuration with a port scan both using the Sure Signal's LAN IP address (192.168.1.80) and the WAN IP address (90.246.89.4) and can confirm (see below) that the Sure Signal box is not accepting incoming packets on those port numbers, as Vodafone expect the Sure Signal box to, so I believe the Sure Signal box has a fault.

Here are the port scan results:

Please advise next steps to return the Sure Signal box to it's previously working state,
Thanks,
