Sure Signal Total Failure No Power or Connection Lights

Hi, I've had the V2 unit for a number of years with no issues, it has worked well.  Last week, however, it stopped working totally, no power light or connection indicators.  I've tried it in various alternative power sockets, attempted the reset, but still nothing.

The tracert 212.183.133.177 test returns the following:

I've not undertaken any other tests as the unit is clearly dead.  Comments and advice will be appreciated, I presume Vodafone will supply a replacement unit foc.

Hi peely533

Can you provide the serial number for your Sure Signal?

If you feel the unit is no longer working or is faulty we can offer to repair it for you. See how to arrange this here.

Thanks

Sukhi

Thank you for the response, serial number is 3jr09110abba.

Oops, part number posted earlier, serial number is 40111325409.

Hi Peely533,

I've done a resync for you to clear up minor glitches. Can you reset the Sure signal box for me?

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
  • Once all lights display release the reset button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Dave

Hi Dave,

Tried the reset as you requested (several times)...nothing, no power or activity lights. The unit is dead.  Please arrange to forward a replacement unit. Thank you for your assistance, Neil.

Hi peely533,

The warranty on Sure Signals is 24 months, if you have had it longer than this then we will be unable to arrange a repair.

If it's within this time frame then you can find more information on arranging a repair here

Thanks,

Kay

What a poor, couldn't care less attitude towards a loyal customer. Obviously a sub-standard product with unfit for purpose components. Other people thinking of paying out £100 for this hardware should take note!!

Sure Signal Serial no: 40111629651

Total failure of unit. No lights after many reset attempts. Assume, based on comments on this forum, the unit is dead and no repair possible. Clearly now out of warranty. What can be done? There is no vodafone signal in the house and have to climb a hill outside to get a signal (Rural Somerset). Plaese advise soonest what I need to do.

Hi

If it is a V2 then look at replacement of the power supply,  otherwise if if is a version 3 then I'd suggest reading the thread at the following link and add your details there.

You must inform Trading Standards and the BBC Watchdog programme  in order to record the failure then as described on page one of the thread follow information on obtaining a replacement regardless of Warranty status for free and without obligation on your part.
