Sure Signal V2 Not sending 3g Signal

I had given up on My Sure Signal owing to ongoing problems with calls being dropped. Following a nudge from Vodafone saying that they were going to cease my service as it was not being used I dug it out and thought I would give it a final try.

I set it up again and got both the power light and round white light up and stable quite quickly. I logged in and ensured that my number was registered and waited for a couple of days for things to sort themselves out. Nothing happened and  I got no signal to the phone. I rang 191 and eventually got through to a Sure Signal agent. His great suggestion was to reset the unit. I was not  not expecting very much from this - and sure enough 30 hours later nothing had happened. Still no signal.  I have read through the various topics and so far found nothing which helps that I can do myself as far as I can see.

In order to short circuit things I have run the tests most people seem to get asked to perform and posted the resaults below. Hopefully somebody will read this and be able to advise what my best next step is. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Mark,

not sure when the reset took place, but I have had two flashing lights for several hours now. Is that expected behaviour?

@Dickimuss This sounds like your Sure Signal was preparing for configuration after the reset we performed.

Please can you let us know if you're now up and running?

I have been away on business for a couple of days, but got home today to find lights still flashing.

@Dickimuss

Can you try a different Ethernet cable and to ensure that all the following ports are open as follows:

Ports to be opened for forwarding

  • 8 (TCP & UDP)
  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall

  • 133.177-179
  • 133.181-182
  • 131.128-191

I can see it's registered successfully, so once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset:

  • Unplug the Ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

If you’re still experiencing difficulties then try different location with a different ISP and to let us know what lights are displayed on the Sure Signal.

I have taken a look at this and I don't feel comfortable messing around with these settings. It appears to me that I have an excellent change of messing my network up altogether if I get it wrong. I can t believe that an item sold as a consumer product requires this level of fiddling just to get it to work. I guess I will be consigning my Suresignal to the bin - where it belongs.

@Dickimuss If you change your mind, please follow the instructions @Retired-Beau gave and let us know the outcome.

Sorry once again for the inconvenience this may cause.
