Sure Signal V3 will not connect

Hi,

I have just bought a Sure Signal V3, and registered it and followed all the instructions. The Sure Signal is flashing red, and has the 1st light shown as orange.

I have been through all the steps in the other threads but nothing is working. The internet I have at home is a bthome hub. Can you please help me with this? It is for my mum's house, and there is little or no reception there, and she must have some reception so we can call her for emergencies as she is recovering.

Sure signal s/n: 40123624864

Hi anishap,

Everything you've posted is within the acceptable levels and the Sure Signal should be working fine - I've checked the serial number you've supplied and the unit was only activated at 11:08 this morning.

The light sequence means it's configuring itself ready to become active - it can take up to 24 hours for the Sure Signal to fully activate - keep an eye on it and give us a shout tomorrow if the light sequence doesn't change.

Thanks for the speedy response Paul. I will have a look again tomorrow, and let you know. :smileyhappy:

Hi Paul,

I am still getting the same issue. Nothing has changed? :smileysad:

Hi anishap,

Thanks for getting back to us.

I’ve checked your serial number and can see that this last connected yesterday at 15.36.

Please try restarting your Sure Signal and if this continues, please get back to us with your ping test results from here and your external IP address from here.

Should this not resolve the problem, manually configure your Router to allow port-forwarding as follows:

In most cases, routers support a system called "Universal Plug-n-Play" or UPnP, which will setup port-forwarding for you automatically. If you have a complicated network setup, or a complex router, you may be required to enter these settings in manually.

The following details list the IP addresses and Port Numbers that need to be forwarded to your Sure Signal's internal IP address. For detailed instructions on how to do this, we recommend either contacting your ISP or Router Manufacturer, or referring to the Default Guide for your particular make and model, over at http://portforward.com

Destination IP Addresses:
212.183.133.177
212.183.133.178
212.183.133.179
212.183.133.181
212.183.133.182
212.183.131.128/26

Ports and Protocols:
Port 50 - TCP/IP
Port 4500 - UDP
Port 500 - UDP
Port 123 - UDP

Port 8 - TCP/IP

Port 1723 (BT Customers only) - TCP/UDP

Please note that in the above list of IP addresses, the notation "212.183.131.128/26" means the complete range of IP addresses between 212.183.131.128 and 212.183.131.191

Your Router will also need to be able to assign the Sure Signal with a DNS Server address via DHCP.

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I exchanged the sure signal for another one, as the faulty one was just continuosly flashing red.

The new sure signal is no longer flashing red, it is a steady light, but the light next to it (the one that looks like a world with a swirl around it), repeatedly flashes white. Reading this information on this page: http://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/selfservice.controller?supportSearch=sure+signal+lights&CONFIGURAT...

4 Light Version
Power Light On – the Sure Signal is powered on
Power Light Flashing – the Sure Signal has a fault
Internet Light Off – the Sure Signal can’t connect to the internet
Internet Light On – the Sure Signal is ready for use
Internet Light Flashing – the Sure Signal is not registered
User Light Off – no calls or internet connections being made
User Light On – the maximum number of simultaneous users has been reached (it can handle up to 4)
User Light Flashing – one or more calls or internet connections in progress
Status Light Off – the Sure Signal can’t provide a service
Status Light On – the Sure Signal is ready for use
Status Light Flashing – the Sure Signal is being configured

This suggests that it is not registered. I have registered the sure signal, can you check from your side that it has actually connected or not?

The SN is: 40123302115

Can you please assist? I'm starting to lose hope with this sure signal now.

Hi anishap,

I've checked your serial number - the unit has been registered but it's yet to contact our servers - the flashing light means it's still configuring itself - are you still seeing this light sequence or has it started working now?

Paul

Hi Paul,

I have just checked, and it has connected - hurray :smileyvery-happy: My internet connection did cut out when the sure signal connected, but everything is connected now. I will see if it's still ok tomorrow now. Thanks again though. :smileyhappy:
