Solution

Sure Signal compatability

I have the original Sure Signal, which works with my Blackberry Q10.

I want to buy the latest Sure Signal. The spec says that it works with a Z10, but does not mention the Q10. Is this the same Blackberry platform and will the new Sure Signal work with my Q10?

Cheers

You will be fine

All versions of suresignal only have two 'connect to the phone' requirements and that is that they are:

a) UK 3G

b) On Vodafone

As there are only a handful of new phones out there (very very basic ones) that only run on 2G and wouldn't work, and some foreign sourced handsets don't use the same frequencies... however your Q10 will be fine.

Not sure if this is entirely correct.

I have a Galaxy S4 and it does not work with a gen 1 Suresignal yet it does with the gen 3 we have at our office.

It did work flawlessly and something has changed.

I have tried several times to to get this fixed, Vodafone store will not replace it, as apparently it is not faulty.

191 told me to take it to the store for a replacement, which they will not, see above.

191 called again apparently to reset the unit 'worked' for a bout a day.

All are claiming this is a Samsung issue and is their responsibility, my contract is with Vodafone not Samsung so why are they ignoring me??

An update after restart.

Light 1 comes on, stays on.

After a peroid of time light 2 flashes.

After a while longer light 4 starts flashing as well as light 2.

Then all 4 come on and stay on.

Suresignal is now sitting with just lights 1 and 2 steady, 3 and 4 are off.

Hi Blanchoid

I’ve requested a firmware update for your Sure Signal, which will be pushed through in the next 48 hours.

Once it’s completed, you’ll need to do a factory reset as follows:

  • Unplug the ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,

I have performed the reset according to Suresignal 1 document.

Unit is up with all 4 lights on solid as it has done previously.

Hi Blanchoid,

It could still be pushing through to the Sure Signal box.

Try the reset after 6PM today and post back here with an update.

Thanks,

Matt B
