Sure Signal not working with iPhone 4S

Hi,

I have an iPhone 4S which does not work with my Sure Signal V1

I also have a Samsung SII - this works fine.

My iPhone seems to drop the wifi connection too!

IOS = 7

BT Hub 2

Download speed from Broadband is 2.5mb

This has been working fine, but does seem to have started around the same time as IOS was updated.  that may just be a coincidence though.

Please could anyone help solve this issue?  The phone is unuseable at home now due to no normal signal from my house, and I need to run my business from this!

Thanks.

Hi p4gg4rs,

Thanks for the info. Everything else checks out OK but your Sure Signal doesn't seem to be synchronising with our servers. I've pushed a manual synchronisation through to help. Can you reset your unit by:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Can you post the outcome after the hour or so has passed? :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the reply.

I'll reset now .... do you need me to perform the ping tests again afterwards, or just let you know when an hour has passed?

Thanks.

Hi Ben,

The Sure Signal box is back and I have lights 1,2 and 4 on, and light 3 (phone symbol) is flashing .... slowly.

Please let me know what you need me to check next.

Thanks,

Hi p4gg4rs

The SS has still not updated on our servers.

The next step would be to test it a different location, to rule out a faulty unit. Are you able to take it around to friends for an hour or so?

Thanks

Sukhi

Hi,

This will not be easy to perform before the end of the year.  Is there anything more I can try at home.

Calls are working currently, but not sure how long for.

Thanks.

Hi p4gg4rs,

If it does go down again, I'd suggest checking the ports and IP addresses. These should be picked up automatically but if you're having issues it's best to check.

Check that you have the following ports open for forwarding on the router:

  • 8
  • 50
  • 123
  • 500
  • 1723
  • 4500

Also, make sure the following IP ranges are allowed on the router and firewall:

  • 212.183.133.177-179
  • 212.183.133.181-182
  • 212.183.131.128-191
