Sure Signal not working

Hello,

My Sure Signal v2 is not working. We have two phones registered, a Samsung Galaxy S3 and an HTC Desire, both 3G compatible, but neither work. Ocassionally we see strong signal (full bars), but when we try to make a call or send a text, we get an error message saying "Not registered on a network."

Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks.

P.S. Here are the results of the tests your tech advisers recommend:

Speed test results: ping: ~10ms; download: ~30Mbps; upload: ~2Mbps

Ping test results (150mi): grade: A; 0% packet loss; 21ms ping; 3ms jitter

Hi flossiraptor,

Welcome to the eForum. :Smiling:

We had some network issues on Friday, so just to check are you still having issues today?

If so, does this only happen while you’re both at home using the Sure Signal?

Please could you provide your Sure Signal serial number?

Thanks,

Gemma

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. We are indeed still having trouble using our Sure Signal. We both have trouble making calls and receiving texts only in the house when we are connected to SS; both phones work well elsewhere.

Our SS v2 serial number is 40114517754.

The behaviour is very odd. I'm sat 2m away from the unit, and my phone is alternating between zero signal and full bars . If I try to make a call when the signal appears full, I get 'not registered on network'; when signal is low (presumably not connected to SS), the call just fails to connect (which is what happened before we got the SS.

Thanks for your help!

Hi flossiraptor,

It’s showing a location change on the 17 January.

This can happen if an IP address has changed, not to worry though I’ve refreshed it for you.

Please allow 24 hours, if this doesn’t work, could you please try your Sure Signal with another internet connection so we can identify if it’s a faulty Sure Signal.

Thanks,

Gemma

Hooray, it works! ... most of the time. We've both been able to make and receive calls and send and receive texts. However, sometimes -- right now for example -- I've got zero bars of signal, and when I try to call I get 'Not registered on network'. Meanwhile, the SS unit's lights imply all systems are go. Any ideas? Do I need a firmware upgrade or something?

Thanks!

Hi flossiraptor,

You've got the up to date hardware so that's all fine.

Is it just you who is having the issues?

Have you just done a firmware update, or is one due?

Thanks

Ian

Hi,

No, I haven't done a firmware upgrade (is this even under my control?). I recently bought the unit second-hand, so I can't say whether it has had any updates in the past.

The intermittant connection happens to both me (Samsung Galaxy S3) and my partner (HTC Desire).

Thanks for your (continued) help!
