Sure Signal(s) Stopped working.

LesE
4: Newbie

We are at a business with a VPN firewall Netgear FVS336GV2

The setting on this have not changed in the last year.

We have now three Sure signals to provide internal voadfone coverage.

a V1 a V2 and a new V3.

Last friday they stopped working.

They transmit through 92.27.88.48.

We have taken two of they to another site and they all work perfectly there so its not the devices.

We have check the ISP supplier for 92.27.88.48 and they confirm no listed problems or any blocked ports.

( we have been using Sure signals for 2 years plus on this line)

Download is 2 Meg plus upload around 800K.

We have tried ouside the firewall directly connected to the broadband modems as well just to confirm all is ok with our system.

Still no signal on any of our three.

We have swapped the modems to check that its not them, still no result

(we have two broadband lines running load balancing, however the sure signal is forced always down 92.27.88.48)

Pathping gives.

Hi LesE,

How many lines do you have connected to the Vodafone Sure Signal?

Cheers,

Laura

Hi,

I am not sure i understand what you mean by how many lines are connected to the sure signal?

We have two broadband lines. both feed into a load balancing router. There are only 20 pc's connected to the router and most are not used full time. also the internet is not heavily  used.

Until last week we only had two sure signals connected to the router, both use the same broadband line ( the one I posted the IP address of. The new one the v3 was purchased less then a week ago. Agian the sure signals only have about 8or 9  phones listed as users and agian we rarely have more than one call at a time on the vodafone system. the reason for getting the three is just to get full coverage all over  our premise.

Again our other site has no problems and that has two also and the same list of users. also the second site has a must slower broadband line

Hi LesE,

Please can you provide me with the other Sure Signal serial numbers you have and we can check these as well.

Has a reset been done on the Sure Signals?

If not, please see here, for further information on how to do this.

Thanks,

Sarah

Last Friday a great many suresignals stopped working. Just browse this forum and you'll see at least two pages of threads describing the same problem you describe... no changes locally, internet working fine, suresignal blobbed out last Friday, solid power and blinking network lights.... Vodafone are not publicising the fact but they have a big outage, alluded to in this sticky from this morning (<<--- click)

You may get lucky with the PD suggested, but maybe VF can tell you if you are one of the many affected.

Regards the other serial numbers

21224639480

above when down I believe friday eve.  19th sept

the V3 was installed
24th Sept
42142439019

and has never made connection at the premise in question, however, it does connect at our second site.

We have rest all the sure signals a number of times according to the methods listed on your site.

Also recheck and re-booted our modems / routers. Also checked with our ISP suppliers for faults.

we know our own  vpn is ok as it works site to site.

Hi LesE,

So I can see if you're affected by the issue mentioned here, please let me know who your ISP is for each Sure Signal on site.

Thanks,

Ben

All three sure signals at this main site are routed through

ISP supplier Talk Talk Business Broadband

92.27.88.48

Still awaiting replies.

Please note both

path ping and trace route fail at

85.205.0.86

the above is a site listed as owned by vodafone
