Can anyone help - I would like to set up a Sagem Sure Signal to operate over a satellite broadband service. Are there any special settings I should make for this to happen. Looking forward to getting some cell coverage at last.

Welcome to the eForum!
I've been asking some questions about if satellite broadband would work with Sure Signal. Unfortunately the answer is it won’t work. The ISP your using appears to be based in New Zealand and as such you’re a NZ IP address, which is blocked in the UK. In this situation Vodafone wouldn’t unblock this due to security reasons.

Probably not. Though a UK based IP address will resolve one problem, the real issue with satellite broadband as far as the SS is concerned is latency - IIRC the SS is looking for response times in less than 100ms.
The following is taken from the Tooway website: The satellite is based in a geostationary orbit approx. 36,000Km above the Equator. So any traffic does have a some distance to cover and you will normally see a ping time of around 600ms.
The problem is the distance to the satellite and the speed of light. It will take the signal around 120ms just to get to the satellite, and another 120ms to get back down again before it starts traversing the terrestrial Internet to find a server. So the overhead of a satellite solution is probably around 250ms just because of these factors.
A ping time measures the time for the round trip - i.e. from PC to server and back again. So we need to add another 250ms for the return trip via satellite - 500ms in all - which makes the Tooway figure of 600ms a realistic estimate.

Tooway KA sat registered UK users now have UK IPs
I supply / install such systems for a living and despite the latency issues SKYPE works great - delay only noticeable if conversation is between two KA sat users ..FYI: Orange's non hardware based soln. for poor signal areas ( Signal Boost) DOES work via Tooway KA satellite - if using the right handset.... not all the one's listed work well...
Currently ,Sure Signal doesn't work on Tooway KA .. something with how packets are broken up and reassembled.. but it DOES work on older tooway KU-band sat systems... !!
Hope to test Sure Siganl on Avanti KA systems this week - another KA Satellite system - and will revert... NB: The very people who can't get decent broadband tend to be those in poor signal areas, too It will be great if SS can work on the new, faster KA systems.
