Sure Signal v2 not configuring

Casanunder

I've had a Sure Signal v2 for about a week now and I have been through the Sure Signal guide. I've been bouncing between Vodafone and Sky (ISP) and am now at my wit's end. I have the red power light, and status and handset light flashing white. I can ping the Sure Signal, and I can see the MAC address on the router's list of connected devises.

Vodafone has given me a list of ports to open up. Unfortunantely the www.portforward.com site Vodafone's forum guide recommended doesnt include any information on my Sky router (SR102). I've had a go at creating incoming port rules and directing them to 192.168.0.42, which is the IP address of the router, but still no luck.

Sky advisors are no longer allowed to assist in the opening of ports as Sky no longer supports the use of 3G extenders. Apparently.

Any help warmly welcomed!

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Good news! I've found a way to stop the status and handset lights flashing on my Sure Signal and use my phone at home. It was quite simple really. All I needed was a new operator that didn't intentionally break my kit if I didn't use it for 12 months, and that supported WiFi calling on a 5S. Oh, and a hammer to turn the lights off. Sorted. Respect due.

@Casanunder I've checked your Vodafone Sure Signal via the serial number you've given, and can see it's made contact with our server on 2 October 2016.

Please can you let us know if your device is working now?

Sadly no - its still not working. 1 solid red power light and the two white status and handset lights flashing.

Apologies for the repeat results posts previously, my first two replies didn't seem to register. I suspected the URL / hyperlink police had blocked them.

@Casanunder,

The lights indicate the SureSignal is downloading the profile and would normally settle after a few hours.

If you're still experiencing difficulties, please test this at another location such as a friend or family members (preferably with a different ISP).

I have taken the unit to a family member's house. He is on Virgin Media fibre, where as we are with Sky on standard copper/ADSL+ at home. I thought this would resolve any issue of connection speed or ISP blocking. The unit has been connected for 8 hours now with the same light pattern we always get: red power light on solid, the system and handset lights flashing white.

@Casanunder,

The SureSignal has connected with our servers today. Have you seen a change in the lights?

We haven't sold the version 2 SureSignal for some time, so do you know if this has been used in the last 12 months?

If it hasn't remained active, the license will have been revoked and would require you to purchase a new SureSignal.
