Hi, Problems here with my sure signal V2-V Serial number 40120213869. Started playing up and losing the connection a few days ago. I rebooted the BT homehub 2.0 and it reset but now it only shows red light. When reset button is pressed the 2 white lights flash for a while and then disappear.

Hi manny729,

This should start to work on it’s own as it’s a change on the server and not on the box.

I’d give this a couple of days before doing a reset as it should pick up the change automatically.

Hi manny729

Thanks for providing your traceroute. The IP address is not on the whitelist this is why your Sure Signal is loosing connection.

I've requested this to be added for you :Smiling:

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for that. Do I keep trying by pressing the reset button or will it appear on its own? Do you have a timescale?

Weird!!! I have had SS series 1 for 4 yrs and it worked well. Switched to plusnet fibre with Technicolor router/modem and it went AWOL. Spent 4 days reading blogs till my eyes popped out on stalks and pressing buttons/reconfiguring modem/SS till I got blisters on my thumb....rang Voda (Its your ISP providers problem.....useless)....rang ISP Plusnet (Sorry SS not supported; its VODA's problem.....useless). Finally spoke to 2 helpful Plusnet guys and asked them to read the flaming blogs (dont know if they did but they seemed interested and promised to escalate....?). The blogs say this wont work with PPoE only PPoA. Not being techie, frankly I gave up......Four days later I looked at SS. Blow me down, four lights and working like a charm!!! So doesnt work with PPoE.....WRONG...it is!!!
Did Plusnet change something meanwhile; Dunno? All I can tell you is, it CAN work with PPoE, coz it IS as of now.
The ONLY thing I can suggest is that VODA say it needs a static IP address. So for the princely sum of £5 Plusnet gave me my own IP.address. Stuffed it in...day 1 nada, day 2 nada. Day 3, dunno...too disillusioned to look. Day 4.... Well 'Roger' me with a red hot poker....the darned thing is working ! (longest link up in history)
Frustrated but v happy. GL all.
