Sure Signal v3 stopped working but lights are all fine

greyhound82

Hi,

A couple of days ago my phone stopped connecting to my Sure Signal v3, even though the lights on the Sure Signal don't indicate any problems and nothing has changed with my phone or home network.  I've tried resetting the Sure Signal but it hasn't helped.  I normally switch the phone to 3G mode at home to force it to pick up the Sure Signal, but it's not working.  Is there anything else I can try to fix it or should I take it to a Vodafone shop for an exchange?

Thanks very much,

Graham.

Hi @greyhound82

Appreciate you've been troubleshooting.

Can you please take a look in this one. The 'issue not listed' option has a Traceroute you can run and re post here for the Tech Team to take a look.

Also this may help My-sure-signal-has-stopped-working-what-should-I-do.

I've also read unplugging the Sure Signal for a few hours can help too.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.  Additional info is below, please let me know if there's anything else I should try.

Many thanks,

Graham.

The issue you’re experiencing:  Phone doesn't connect to the Sure Signal v3, even after manually switching the device to 3G mode.  Problem has only started this week, before that it was fine.  No changes to handset or home network.

What light sequence you're seeing: Three solid lights on Sure Signal. 4th light never comes on.

@greyhound82 I've checked your Sure Signal via the serial number you gave, however can't see any obvious reasons as to why it's not making a connection.

I've resycned the device to help resolve the issue. Please allow 6 hours for the Sure Signal to regain connection.

If you're still having trouble after this, please can you let us know what phone you're trying to use with the device.

Hi,

I tried it again earlier tonight and appears to be working now.  Maybe the resync helped or it could have been an intermittent problem (it isn't the first time this box has given me problems).

It's a shame that Vodafone doesn't invest more time & effort into wi-fi calling.  It's a much more elegant solution to this problem, if only you'd roll out support for more devices.  But then I suppose you wouldn't be able to sell people these Sure Signal boxes! :Winking_smiley:

Cheers,

Graham.

@greyhound82

Thanks for letting us know, great to hear you're back up and running.

We're looking at improving our Network all the time, and we're also working on rolling out more top devices to on our Wi-Fi calling feature :Smiling:
