Sure Signal works great for up to 36 hours, stops working and needs reset to resolve issue

I have tried the trouble shooting guide before starting this thread.
My Sure Signal box works for a day to 36 hours, then stops working. The red power light is on, but neither white light is on. Resetting the device clears the problem. Is the device faulty?
My Netgear router (WNDR4500). My Sure Signal box is a Alcatel-Lucient 9361 Home Cell (serial number 40114655091). My ISP is Virgin Media. When the box isnt working, my router can't see the Sure Signal box (it has no IP address). When i reset the Sure Signal box, it picks up the fixed IP adress I allocated and all is well.
I have left the Sure Signal box for as long as I can (over a week) and it doesnt recover. AS soon as I reset it, it works fine (for up to 36 hours....)

Hi there,
I've had my sure signal for a couple of weeks and mine is behaving in exactly the same way, i.e. works fine for a few days then the signal light flashes and never goes solid again. Pulling the power cord out seems to solve the issue, but it's a pain as my suresignal is not somewhere I look at frequently.
Is it faulty?
Thanks

Hi guys,
ernie29 - The power light on it's own signifies that the Sure Signal is not connecting to the internet. Do you have an alternate router you can try it on to see if the issue follws the Sure Signal or not?
---------------------
For both of you, can you confirm the serial number on the Sure Signal for me so we can check our systems here for anything which may be showing up.

My Sure Signal box is a Alcatel-Lucient 9361 Home Cell (serial number 40114655091).
I had even more problems with my pervious Netgear router, so I bought a new one to try to get this working, so I dont think it is the router. I assume, since I am allocating a fixed IP address, we dont need to consider that the lease on the IP address runs out on the router, but I do agree that the Sure Signal box is lost by the Netgear router (as it was by the other router I tried). How does the Sure Signal box stay alive? It seems to time out through lack of activity and not be able to wake up again.

Hi ernie29,
To be honest the Sure signal should remain active within the router as long as the power stays connected, it is only when it loses power that the router should no longer be able to see the Sure Signal.
Due to this I have flagged this up with our support teams to see if they know of any reason why this is happening and what we can do to stop it from happening.

Hi guys - sorry didn't check this for a few days.
My router is an O2 boradband thing (not sure which generation - about 1-2 yrs old). One thing that could be related - the sure signal is connected to this via Home Plugs (D-Link). It works ok apart from these random resets every few days. Happy to move it off the home plugs if you think that could be an issue.
serial # of the sure signal is 41113732949
Thanks for your help
BTW - it's been rock solid since my first post a few days ago

Alcatel-Lucent 9361 Home Cell V2-V Rev:00 Serial No: 40111636318
I have a small home office on the second floor and this unit was purchased to provide cover for a couple of mobile dead spots on the ground floor. This unit works fine - whilst it's working. Periodic reboots required to reactivate seem to follow a pattern of Day1: Reboot, charge mobile overnight; Day2: Unit fine, charge mobile overnight; Day 3: Reboot - and so on.
Like others I've followed recommendations on troubleshooting and tried re-cabling with a high quality cable; but no change. When this unit drops out it is not reactivating; I am not aware of what is causing the unit to drop out in the first place but it doesn't appear to be a leasing issue with the router.
My setup is a Netgear N600 ADSL2+ modem/router and connected to it also is a Belkin USB Hub and a QNAP TS-412 NAS (server). I have had no problems with either USB Hub or server, and the server logs do not appear show any network connectivity issues. The mains supply for all these units is supllied via an APC 1400 Smart-UPS, providing a smoothed and filtered supply.
I'm at the point of frustration that I am considering installing a remote switching unit on the mains supply; hardly a good solution since it treats symptom and not cause. Any progress at all on this quirk - it seems that I've bought a unit that has just swapped one problem for another. Help please.

Forgot to add:
N600 router is used as DHCP Server and a reserved IP address has been allocated to the Sure Signal unit.

Same here. 01:00hrs local 23rd and I just checked again and mobile shows signal is back to gprs; this means the unit has stopped working and will require a reboot. Previous check late evening 22nd had full 3G coverage, so unit has gone down in the last two/three hours. What's happening at midnight on your systems? Just clutching at straws, but it fits in with previously experienced pattern of switch off - ok in evening, failed by the next morning - switch-off always happenening overnight, never during the day. Can't think of anything else to check locally; perhaps only other avenue is to replace the unit and see if the same problem arises with a known working/pre-tested box, but since this problem has re-occurred with another user (previous post) not sure that there's much merit in this. Back to you James I guess.

Hi Lee
That's interesting
- according to James on 20 March there already has been a response,
- according to Lee on 23March we're still waiting for a response.
Hmmmmmm ...... I could be sarcastic here but I wouldn't dream for risk of alienating anyone. I guess all I would like to say is that I (and probably ernie29) left a response to the message from James on 20th in the belief that all was well. We're not being impatient or anything - just responding to the thread.
