Having problems with our sure signal box. The power light is on steady but none of the other lights on the front are on. The lights on the network port both turn on for a few seconds and turn off, over and over.

Performed a traceroute

Tracing route to cluster4.vap.vodafone.co.uk [212.183.133.177]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Hop 2 shows the same timeout no matter what address is pinged (even tracing google.com does it)

http://www.speedtest.net/ give a ping of 43ms Download of 2.65 Mbps and upload of 0.68Mbps

http://www.pingtest.net/ says line quality B, ping 60ms, Jitter 27ms

http://www.whatsmyip.net/ gives address of 94.5.218.249

And the sure sigal serial number is: 40132104098

Thanks

Hi there MiffNuts,

There could be a number of reasons it's not connecting to the server.

Can you try another ethernet cable?

Are the right ports open? You can check here.

Will the Sure Signal work on another connection such as a friend, relative or neighbour's house?

Cheers,

LeeH

Hi,

-tried a different ethernet cable but that did not work.

-what are the right ports?

thnks

Hi MiffNuts

The ports that need to be open are 8, 50, 123, 500, 1723 and 4500.

Dave

port fowarding saying ports not open......................is it the UPD or TCP option? should this site automatically check the correct IP address? which ip address is it checking-its not the same one as 94.5.218.249 as detailed in the first post-its checking 94.11.151.121. it says it automatically checks all IP addresses on my computer.

As you can tell I dont understand. please assist with getting your product to work.

thanks

Hi NiffNuts,

When it comes to the ports, you will need to select the following options for each port.

Port 50 - TCP/IP
Port 4500 - UDP
Port 500 - UDP
Port 123 - UDP

Port 8 - TCP/IP

When using the port forwarding auto guide it will normally check your external IP address, however this won’t always be the same as the one you first found for us.

The reason for this is that your IP address will change from time to time, to a different IP address within a range that your internet provider uses.

If this is saying that the ports are all closed, you will need to open each of the above ports using the setup guide for your router on the port forwarding website.
