Solution

Sure signal change of address texts

I keep getting texts saying that I have changed location.
I've been to my sure signal manager and re-inserted my address thinking it was because I changed broadband supplier, but I got the  the message again.
I've tried ignoring that text but then I got a reminder saying I've not updated my new location. I've been back into the manager again today and yet again re-inserted my address. Am I missing something?? Is there something else I need to do?? I am using version 2 sure signal.
I don't wish to stop the texts they may be useful one day.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Torysmum,

If you've recently changed supplier, this could be the cause. Deregistering your Sure Signal and setting it up fresh again via My Vodafone usually helps. :Winking_smiley:

You can also try changing the location postcode to ST1 5GP for an hour or so then back again to your own postcode so that it picks up the details again.

Let me know if you still need a hand after trying this. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

Thanks Ben I'll give it a try :Smiling:

Well I tried  that Ben but it didn't work, I got another text this morning. I'm at a loss now. I'll just keep popping back and hope a solution comes up.

Thanks for trying :Smiling:

How long have you been with your broadband provider?  It can take a few weeks for the line to "settle" during which time the IP address that is assigned to you by your ISP changes quite a few times.  It could be these changes that are upsetting the SureSignal device.

PWIAC

Thanks for your help  drey_p,  It's been about 10 days, I didn't realise it could take a couple of weeks to settle. I'll leave it for a bit then, ignore the texts and see how it goes. I'll pop back if the problem persists.

Thanks again to all that tried to help :Smiling:
