Hi iany,

Thanks for this information, everything looks fine with your traceroute.

I've done a resync for you, please do a reset to complete this process and let us know how you get on.

-Hold in the reset button until all lights go solid

-Pull the power lead out with the reset button still pushed in

-Continue to hold down the reset button and reconnect the power lead

-Wait for all lights to come on and then release the reset button

Thanks,

Ian,

I have had a similar experience, several times!

Vodafone response is that 'it should re-connect in about an hour'

On the last experience it took a little over four days.

Off on the Sunday, when some miscreant vandalised a main internet relay station, S.Sig.v3 went OFF

Steady power light and flashing white internet -- this means the S.Sig is trying to re-connect

This usually falls to:

Flashing power light; steady orange internet and steady orange user lights.

Patience.  --  Leave it alone! (until you start to feel homicidal)

My S.Sigv3 burst into full life the following Thursday between 03.00hr and 06.00hr

DMLox.

it would appear you have the same opinion as me that these things arent exactly perfect!!

i'm not needing it for work as its half term so might just leave it alone for a few days, its not the most stable or reliable devices, spends a lot of time disconnected for no apparent reason, not usually for this long though...

Hello again Iany,

Sure Signal is a superb concept.

But poorly executed.

Advertised as ideal for 'not-spots' and rural areas.

Unfortunately designed 'for use with hard wired connection'.

Out in the sticks, as we are, where land-line b/band is about 200kbps or less

it will not work.

I subscribe to a WiFi type community system with a reliable 5 to 6Mbps rate.

Tis apparantly is 'not recomended'.

When, as now, it works it is verry verry good

When it dosen't its horrid.

Wonders of modern science and technology.

Hi Matt,

here's the details, Bband is roughly 17Mb down and 1Mb up, ping test is good, trace does time out but not sure if that's expected due to firewalls at your end etc.

Hi iany,

That’s great news.

Thanks for letting us know.

James

no probs :Smiling:

do have some intermittent issues where it seems to clash when using my work laptop connected to work using cisco VPN, calls will sometimes get disconnected if the laptop goes from idle to some activity , are there any things we can do to avoid these?
