Sure signal - ported number doesnt work

Hi Vodafone,

I have two sure signals, my main VF number (iPhone 5) will connect absolutely fine to the unit.

I have added my work Vodafone handset (Nokia 109), it received the text to confirm that the number is registered with both of my sure signals but it will not connect to either.

The problem unit ported in from Orange. Does something need to be reset on the sure signal?

I've reset both units, one of them is a new sure signal that only arrived yesterday.

Many thanks

Hi mdinham,

Has the number ported in very recently?

If so, the Sure Signal may need to update.

Can you do a factory reset of your device and let me know how you go on.

For versions 1 & 2:-

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show/flash (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead
  • Once all the lights display, release the reset button
  • The Sure Signal will come online in about an hour

For version 3:-

  • Find the button on the base of the unit next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around one hour

If it doesn’t work, can you let me have your Sure Signal serial number please?

Cheers,

Andrew

Thanks Andrew

The number ported in over a month ago.

I've reset the v1 sure signal previously and it made no difference. The v3 only arrived on Friday and I reset that before I started to use it.

I'll PM you the serials

Thanks

Hi mdinham,

I'm so very sorry this wasn't picked up on in your original post. The Nokia 109 is a 2G handset. As Sure Signal only broadcasts a 3G network, this phone won't be compatible.

You'll still be able to put the SIM in another 3G device to use the service. Have you got another 3G phone to use? If not you can find our full range of PAYG phones here. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

Thanks

That would explain a thing or 2 🙂

The Nokia 109 is a load of junk, about the only thing that's good about it is the battery life - I'm going to swap it. To be honest it didn't even occur to me that a new phone would only be 2G.

Thanks
