My sure signal box has the above lights showing. It replaced the last box that developed the same problem. The serial number of this box is 40123687358. This box has been in service for one day and is now not working do I need a replacement or can it be reset in some way?

Hi dxwalt,

I've given the box a resync to start with, so can you reset it for me?

For Sure Signal version 1 or 2:

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
  • Once all lights display release the reset button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

For Sure Signal version 3:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

If this doesn't help, can you confirm for me if the box is placed somewhere with good ventilation? It's best top ensure that it's not too enclosed to prevent it overheating.

Can you also check the Ethernet lights next to the cable on the Sure Signal for me? These should be lit or flashing. If not, the Sure Signal isn't connecting.

Just so we can double check as well, can you confirm this as well:

 - Your speed test results from here.

 - Your external IP address from here.
 - The results of a traceroute.

VSS Traceroute command
