Sure signal router support

On the Vodafone Shop web page we can purchase a sure signal. Under the Requirements section it states:

'Please note that Sure Signal works with the vast majority of broadband providers and routers, but not all are compatible. Also, Sure Signal won't work on satellite broadband'

If Vodafone state publicly that the SS won't work with certain routers then why can't it publish which ones?? This should not be that difficult. A SS Configuration Guide would be useful. Having this list would certainly prevvent customers from wasting their money and time on a product that would never work!!

Any comments?

I imagine they don't publish a list because it would always be changing and keeping it up to date all the time would be difficult.

Well maybe it's time the big corporations had some difficult times. I've had a v3 since may 28th and it still won't work. That is after too many chats with so-called support techies, replacing it twice, configuring router and resetting until I've lost the will to live. Vodafone don't know the meaning of difficult.

Sorry, rant over...

Just to add, I can't imagine any company testing every single router on the market just to make sure that each and every one of them works with a product or service they provide.

But they could test the primary ISP routers I guess. Or at least get their act together with supporting the product. It is most definitely not a plugnplay product which 90% of the customers need it to be.

Hi Mike

You need a business class router or one that specifically allows MTU setting to be changed.

I warned Vodafone two and a half years ago this issue would become more prominent once Fibre connections become the norm.

As always, a complete waste of two hours of my life in explaining this to them as they did nothing to avert it.

I use a Draytek without issue but they ain't cheap.

What's worse is that Tech give you the run around rather than being straight with you that their device is pretty much incompatable with nearly every out the box ISP router who they then blame for having an unsuitable router.

The work around us simple but they refuse to accept that they can fix it for everyone.
