Hi,
Serial number: 21225100060.
I have a SureSignal version 1 and I’ve noticed it had stopped working. This may have been since i upgraded my Plusnet internet to fiber a few months back.
So, I’ve followed all the advice I can find on the internet, this forum and others. I’ve factory reseted multiple times, reconfigured port forwarding, switch cables, router ports and finally moved it to my routers DMZ, hopefully removing the possibility that its a port or firewall issue. Still no joy.
After a factory reset my power light just goes off and my router reports that its inactive.
I’ve read about issues using SS on Plusnet Fiber. Should I give up now? I hope not.
Please help!!
Thanks in advance
Tim.

Hi Tim,
Your Sure Signal hasn’t connected with our servers since 7 August.
A location move has been detected, so I’ve changed the postcode to ours and back to yours again to fix this.
Please reset your Sure Signal as follows to make sure this updates:
Thanks,
Jenny

Hi Jenny, thanks for the reply.
I performed your suggested sequence but the lights never go solid. After approximalty 30 seconds the lights sequence on from top to bottom then go blank again. At which point i've tried either holding longer and/or dissconnecting/reconecting the power cable. Nothing happens if I hold for longer. On the reconnecting the power the lights sequence from top to bottom again then go out never to come back on (inc the top power light).
The lights don't do what you and others on the forum suggest they should do. Could it be just old and defective? After all i've had it some time.
Thanks
Tim

Hey Ian,
I had my SureSignal pluged in to my parents internet for approximalty 5 hours. In which time I did several resets. The lights did the same as I previsously decribed. But generally they were off for most of the time, expect when I did the resets.
Did you see it update on the server?
Is it time to invest in a new device?

I had the same problem after upgrading to Plusnet Fibre with my v2 Sure Signal. Plusnet sent me to this commuity post for instructions which I followed (inc the extra bit in the comments field) and all now seems to be working: http://community.plus.net/library/settings/using-vodafone-sure-signal-with-plusnets-thomsontechnicol... luck!
