Re: Suresignal has just stopped working after working fine for months?

Hi PeterT,

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thanks

Andy

Re: Suresignal has just stopped working after working fine for months?

Andy,

I had already been to the Troubleshooting thread and done all the checks I could think of - including those listed. I had contacted Vodafone and given remote control of my computer to one of your people, who ran a test and concluded the problem was with upload speed. I then contacted my ISP (PlusNet) who said there were no problems/changes to my connection. Note the Suresignal had worked fine for 18 months and 'just stopped' for no apparent reason. The upload speed tests I have done indicates around 0.34, which I think should be OK?

I really don't know what else to do.

Re: Suresignal has just stopped working after working fine for months?

Hi PeterT

I have run a re-sync of the box, so can you try another reset of the Sure Signal for me and let me know if that resolves this.

If not, the upload speed is still a little borderline there, but if this was fluctuating above and below the required speed I'd expect an intermittent fault, not a constant one.

Have you run the speed test will all devices which use the connection running to see if that reduces the available speed?

Also, if you turn everything else off and just leave the router and Sure Signal, does the Sure Signal start working?

Dave

Re: Suresignal has just stopped working after working fine for months?

Dave,

I noticed that when I sent emails it was taking a long time (15-20 minutes) with 'large' (e.g. 5+ Mb) attachments. In the end I thought it was worth trying a new router. I purchased a Netgear N300 to replace the Linksys. Once setup this apparently solved all the problems. The SureSignal starting working and those emails take 2-3 minutes.

I have no idea where the problem lay or why a new router has solved it! Hopefully there will be no recurrence.
