Suresignal - personal phone works, corporate phone doesn't...

I recently got Vodafone Suresignal. My personal mobile (the main phone my Suresignal is registered to) uses the Suresignal no problems. However, the Vodafone phone provided by my company refuses to work with it, despite it being registered with the Suresignal and getting a text to say it was set up. Is it because it is a Corporate contract phone perhaps? One of the main reasons I got the Suresignal was so BOTH my phones could work in the house where I have poor reception, and I've not been able to find anything that says it shouldn't work. Any help or advice gratefully received.

Hi meddc

Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum from myself and the team. :smileyhappy:

There should be no reason why both phones should not work with your SureSignal, please could you post your serial number and just the last three digits of your corporate number and we will take a look for you.

Many Thanks

Thanks in advance for investigating. Serial number is 40114655505. Last 3 digits of my Corporate phone number are 460.

Hi meddc

Thanks for this. I’ve just removed the number from the Sure Signal. Can you try re-registering and tell me how you get on?

Thanks

Wayne

Thanks. I have re-registered the phone with the Suresignal. The phone received the text saying that it could now use it. But it's still not.

Re: Suresignal - personal phone works, corporate phone doesn't...

I'm very interested in whether this will actually work.       Last year I bought a SureSignal as all the family use Vodafone, but the adults are on corporate accounts  (well to be exact, I'm on a BT contract which utilises Vodafone and the missus is a BT employee using a BT supplied phone using Vodafone)

I was able to register the kids' phones, but it would not recognise the adults, stating they were non-Vodafone.   As we were the ones that needed better reception at home I had to send it back and get a refund.

Are Vodafone now saying that the SuerSignal will work with non directly registered with Vodafone SIMs?     If so, I'm on for buying another one as the reception indoors here is rubbish.

But I'd like a definitive answer first...  once biten and all that!

Hey meddc,

Thanks for coming back to us.

I'm very surprised the number is still not able to pick up a signal. Can you confirm 3G is definitely switched on on the handset?

HelloTiribrenn,

I'm afraid if the SIM is not a Vodafone SIM card then they will be unable to connect to the VSS.

If the numbers are using Vodafone SIMs then would you be able to confirm the serial number of the VSS for me?

Cheers,

Lee

Yes, I can confirm 3G on the handset is switched on. The corporate phone does usually get 2 bars of reception in the house (it's a Blackberry and tends to fare better than my personal HTC) but I would have assumed it would go for the stronger signal of the Suresignal when in range. Can you confirm this?

Re: Suresignal - personal phone works, corporate phone doesn't...

Hi meddc,

I must admit that this is indeed a strange one as once you are in range of the Sure Signal you should be picking up almost full if not full 3G signal on any phones attached to the Sure Signal.

I have taken another look at this for you today and can’t see any reason why this shouldn’t be working however, would it be possible to do a bit of testing in regards to the SIM?

If you placed the SIM in a different phone does it now pick up 3G signal form the Sure Signal?

If you can let me know we can assist you further.

James

Just to advise, I think I've worked this out. Work provided me with a Blackberry 8520. I think this is not a 3G phone! :smileysad:
