Suresignal v1 definitive port forwarding list requested

stilltrying

Hi all,

Have searched but can't anywhere find a definitive list of router ports that need to be open for suresignal v1 to operate properly. I'm sure that some of the grief reported here arises from that very cause, so could I ask the administrator/moderator to post a 'sticky' with that definiitive list of ports and protocols for all three suresignal variants...if it exists and I've missed it, plesae accept my apologies and point me to it.

Many thanks.

Hi stilltrying,

You can find the information you need here.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

Ian

Many thanks for quick response. All ports correctly mapped, Static IP address assigned to suresignal v1 MAC (and address double checked for errors). Suresignal restarted. Lights 1,2,4 all on solid green. But attempting to ping device on LAN gives 'host unreachable' (all other devices ping OK) which seems a pretty major stumbling block- any ideas? Router is Billion 7800n which normally behaves impeccably. Router also restarted.

Thanks.

What router are you using?

I may well be wrong here but I thought these devices create a tunnel from themselves to vodafone's servers and are not locally accessible so wouldn't respond to pings?

Billion 7800n. My understanding also that vpn tunnel used, but if port and LAN IP address mapping needed to address the device, a bit surprised that ping doesn't work. Completely flummoxed by what further diagnostic tests I can do on this box to check functionality- any idea what tests Vodafone themselves can conduct to check correct working? And why 6 hours to integrate with the system- what's happening during that time? Shame there's no diagnostic test accessible from the 'my account' suresignal section.

Hi stilltrying,

We'll need the information listed below to be able to help you further with this.

Your speed test results from here.

Your ping test results from here.

Your external IP address from here.

The results of a traceroute.

Your Sure Signal serial number:

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:

Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok

A black box will appear.

In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter

Hi stilltrying,

We can't accept PM's, so can't check the IP address to make sure it's in range.

The serial number provided says it's invalid.

Please can you check it and post again?

Thanks,

Ian
