Suresignal won't connect, Vodafone firewall is blocking it

I have asked my ISP and they say the signal stops at one of your servers, presumably firewalled out

Hi @peaveyyyy

You're right that your request is getting blocked by a server on the Vodafone side, this is normal, I assume Vodafone's server are (quite rightly) only set up to allow SureSignal traffic.

Have you tried following the steps in the Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread?.

yes I have, multiple times. It works sometimes a few hours later then stops again soon afterwards

I only did the ping because the trouble shooting guide suggested it

Hi Peaveyyyy,

Your serial number indicates that you have a version 1 Sure Signal.

I assume you have had it working on your system previously and nothing has changed recently.

If nothing else solves your problem,I would guess you have a degraded power supply which is not  allowing the Sure Signal  to function correctly. Ignore the power indicator (top light), that is a red herring.

Substitution is the only easy way to prove this, but after around 5 years of use, it needs to be replaced if it hasn't been already and is a common problem with V1 Sure Signals.

If you require a new power supply, they are readily available on Amazon or Ebay and cost around £10 inc. delivery.

Good luck,

Mike.

P.S.  Your Traceroute looks fine as 85.205.0.93 is as far as it can go. The VF servers will not allow any traffic past this point except from a Sure Signal.

Ok I will try that

thanks
