Unable to Register new SureSignal

I am unable to register my SureSignal

After filling in the first page with details of postcode, serial number etc I get a Java error

I have contacted telephone 'support' who suggested problem was with my PC or browser.

I have tried to register SureSignal using both Chrome and IE9 - I have Win7 Home Premium and OS and both browsers are up-to-date on patches

Please advise

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Hi IanHardacre,

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thanks

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

The issue is not with the SureSignal itself but with the Vodafone website as I am unable to even to try and use it.

I log into my Vodafone account and follow the instructions and registration fails after first screen - this happens with IE9 and with Chrome

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Hello IanHardacre,

Thanks for your post about not being able to register your VSS.

If this isn't already fixed, could you provide me with the VSS serial number please?

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Lee,

Is there an issue with the SS area of the web site because I also face this issue. The VF web site is throwing an error on the VSS page and it is not cause by the PC or browser, etc, it is coming from VF's server. I spoke to customer services earlier and they said there is a know issue and they would sort out my registration for me and phone me back. Guess what, my registration still isn't sorted, I didn't get a phone call back and VF's web site still has the error. Can you advise please?

Jon

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Hi dorsetjon

Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

So that we can look at this for you can you please tell me your Sure Signal serial number?

Also, have you tried different web browsers? (eg, Google Chrome, FireFox, Opera etc)

Thanks

Wayne

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Wayne,

SS serial is 21230495083.

The web site error is not browser related and is being generated by Vodafone's web application server. This needs to be investigated by your internal IT support team.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Hey dorsetjon,

Thanks for coming back to us. I can see the VSS serial number you have supplied has been registered today at 15.30.

Do you still need help with this?

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

This problem does seem to be browser relqted as I had the same thing using Firefox but it was fine using IE8.  I haven't upgraded to IE9 yet - luckily.  Now, if only I could get to the Vodafone Sure Signal servers 212.183.133.181 or 212.183.133.177 I might stand a chance of getting my Sure Signal box to work !!

Re: Unable to Register new SureSignal

Hi paula_shilcock,

Somebody has already posted some useful information to you here. The information should help you understand why you're unable to see pings and trace routes beyond our servers :smileywink:

Cheers,

Lee
