Solution

V2 Both lights flashing

trebligs

Hello

Just noticed last night that both the system and call lights are flashing together on my V2 Suresignal. I'm not sure how long it's been like that but it's been a while since I've received any calls at home!

The serial number is 40120148032. A resync and reset has sorted it out when I've had this problem previously.

Thanks

Ste

I tried it at a friends this afternoon and it connected without difficulty.

I've plugged it in at home again and it's connected and working! I've done nothing else so no idea why it's working this time and not before, but problem solved.

Hi trebligs

Your Traceroute looks OK to me, the IP is on the whitelist.

It's been some time since the Sure Signla connected to our servers so I have given it a resync. Can you factory reset and let me know if that brings it to life? :Smiling:

VSS Factory Reset

* Hold the reset button till all the lights come on or flash (about 30 seconds)
* Keeping the rest button held, remove and re-insert the power lead
* Once all the lights come on or flash, release the reset button
* The VSS should come online within the hour

Thanks

Sukhi

I gave the Sure Signal a reset earlier today, unfortunately it has had no effect and I've still got both lights flashing.

Ste

Hi treblings,

I can see the Sure Signal connected last night, so are you still having issues?

If so, can you try the reset again for me, only this time pull the Ethernet cable before you start and put it back in once you've finished?

If that doesn't help, can you check that you have the following ports open for forwarding on the router for me?

 - 8

 - 50

 - 123

 - 500

 - 1723

 - 4500

Also, you need to make sure the following IP ranges are allowed on the router and firewall:

212.183.133.177-179

212.183.133.181-182

212.183.131.128-191

88.82.13.177-179

88.82.13.169-171

88.82.13.183

These should be picked up automatically, but it's best to check.

Finally for now, can you check the Ethernet lights on the Sure Signal for me? Are they lit, flashing or off?

Dave

No still having problems.

I have re-checked the ports and IP ranges on the router and they are fine. The suresignal has worked previously and there have been no changes to the network so it's unlikely to be a problem there (though worth double checking).

I tried the reset, taking the ethernet cable out as described, earlier this morning, but am back to both lights flashing again.

The ethernet lights on the suresignal are both lit, the amber light is steady and the green light flickers.

Ste

Just to clarify, the green ethernet light is lit and flickers every now and again.

Hi trebligs,

Please accept our apologies, your Sure Signal hasn't actually updated with our servers since November last year.

Can you try it at a friend or family members house so that we can determine where the issue lies?

Let us know how you get on.

Kay

I tried it at a friends this afternoon and it connected without difficulty.

I've plugged it in at home again and it's connected and working! I've done nothing else so no idea why it's working this time and not before, but problem solved.
