Hi U4iaF8,

Thanks for posting. I can see your Sure Signal hasn't contacted our servers since 10 July last year.

I've pushed a resync through for you to get it updated. To complete it, can you:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.

The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour. If it doesn't, can you let me know your speedtest results and external IP address?

Cheers, Ben

Hi Ben,

Reset process performed and the lights are doing much the same thing as before. Can you confirm this is expected during the update?

In the meantime is there a prefered speedtest site?

Cheers

Hi U4iaF8,

If your Sure Signal is updating, the power light will be solid and the next light to it will be flashing.

The setup process can take up to six hours to complete and if interrupted, will start from scratch again.

You can perform a speed test here.

Can you confirm that the following ports are open/forwarded on your router:-

Port Number

8          TCP      UDP

50         TCP      UDP

53         TCP      UDP

67                     UDP

68                     UDP

123                   UDP

500                   UDP

1723     TCP      UDP

4500                 UDP

33434 - 33445    UDP

Also, make sure that the router’s MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) is set to 1500.

If this doesn’t help, the next option would be to try the device in a different location such as a family member or friend.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Andy

My SS has a steady power light and the other two are flashing. Nothing I do changes this.

With the port forwarding do I really have to route them all to my SS?  It's just that some of those listed ports are common such as :

DNS (53 TCP/UDP)

BOOTP_CLIENT/SERVER (67/68 UDP)

VPNIPSEC (500 UDP)

And the thought of routing those ports solely to the SS worries me a little.

Speedtest result: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3361327247

Please advise.

Jim
