V3 VSS Not Working

Hi,

My VSS has recently stopped working - everything was fine up until one week ago and nothing has changed with my setup.  The red power light is steady but the first white light is flashing slowly, with the other lights not on at all.

I am on Virgin Media with over 100Mbps downstream and 11Mbps upstream.  Ping is 14ms and jitter 3ms.  The external IP address is 86.13.220.43 and the serial # of the VSS is 42151582006.

Trace results are:

This is the third device I've had this year - this one is new from January.

Please help me to get this back up and running.

Thanks,

Mike

@altymike2 Upon checking your Sure Signal, it appears that everything from our end is configured correctly.

If you're using your own personal router, you'll need to follow the below instructions:

  1. Enter Advanced Settings on Virgin Router. In a browser window type 192.168.100.1 and this will take you to the router login page. Unless you changed the default settings, the username is always admin and the password will be changeme

    1. In advanced settings, select DHCP Reservation. Find the MAC address of the VSS and select it. Then whatever IP address the VSS has obtained by DHCP, re-enter the last digits (192.168.x.xxx). Hit Apply to make a fixed reservation for the Sure Signal.

    2. Go back to Advanced Settings and select DMZ. Enter the same IP address in DMZ and check the box to enable. Then hit apply.

    3. Finally go Advanced Settings then Firewall and set it to LOW. Also uncheck the box marked fragmented IP packets. Finally check the 3 Pass-Thru options, IPSec, PPTP and Multicast and then hit apply.

Reboot your virgin cable modem and power cycle your Sure Signal. After 30-60 minutes the connection should re-establish.
