Afternoon,

Ever since one of our customers replaced their Sky Broadband router, the Vodafone Sure Signal box has stopped working. All numbers were registered and working until that point.

I have noted down all the info that was requested in a previous post.

Speed test Results: Downstream 1.32Mbps, Upstream 0.54Mbps

Ping test Results: Ping 51ms, Jitter 5ms, Line Quality B, Server: Milton Keynes (150 Miles)

External IP Address: 176.253.189.85

Sure Signal Number: 40121464875

Traceroute Results:

Would the fact that the traceroute failed show why the VS box is not working?

Any help with this would be really helpful.

Regards,

David.

Good Evening liwys,

Welcome to the eForum.

The trace route has failed at step 2 which is where it is trying to connect to Sky. The issue lies with your Internet connection or with the router itself so I'd recommend speaking to Sky Customer Services.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Kay

Hi Kay,

I am trying to schedule some time with the end user to see if I can open the ports on his Sky router. When I set the following ports below, would I have to set the destination to the Sure Signal box? If so, what is the default IP address or how can I find that out?

On another note, I have tried to do a trace route to 212.183.170.81 on two seperate broadband connections (Easynet & MDNX) where I work and they both fail. One at IP 85.205.116.14 and 85.205.116.6. Would that suggest I need to open ports on the two connections?

Hi livvys,

The 85.205 IP address is our servers which is why the traceroute stops there. Apart from that your traceroutes are fine.

The Sure Signal’s IP address will be dynamic, so you’ll need to assign it a static IP address. We are unable to assist with the process, but a quick Google search about how to put a device into DMZ should give the answer you need.

Thanks

Andrew
