VSS3 - not working again!

lbrg9

Im at my wits end with VSS. Works one week, then fails for days/weeks. It makes no sense and it appears its not just me. I have the same problem as always..

- Solid power light, flashing internet light, other lights off.

Please resync my VSS.

Ive tried to reset it several times since these problems started about a month agao and it never ever flashes all lights after 30sec of holding down the reset button.

Please dont reply with techy email re ports and what not..most of us are normal people with limited tech experience. I just want a product that works like it says on the box, not a big ask.

All computers in the house work fine. I have internet access just no mobile ph access.

Please help!

speedtest - 6.82 download/0.32 upload - as it is always

ping - 20ms

external IP - 5.81.177.246

serial number - cant tell you as I cant access my vodafone acc - locked out.

Hi lbrg9

I'm sorry to see you're having issues with your Sure Signal.

Can you let me know the serial number so that I can take a closer look at this for you?

Thanks

Sukhi

VSS3 - serial number - 40123623742

Have tried a VSS1 box which fails as well - serial no 21223148335

Hi Ibrg9

Thanks for coming back to me. I've re synced the Sure Signal from our end, can you try a factory reset for me and let me know if that helps?

Sure Signal version 3:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Thanks

Sukhi

I found the box and the receipt so Im returning it.

Problem not solved just avoiding it.

Hi lbrg9,

Once you’re outside of your seven day cooling off period you’re unable to return your Sure Signal, however we really want to help get this sorted for you.

I’ve checked your serial number and this is showing as last updated on 19 September. Did you try the factory reset as suggested above?

Jenny

No as factory resets for this box dont work.

I have sorted out our older VSS1 box which so far seems to be working fine.

Your comment re returning SS boxes contradicts the information provided at vodafone stores.

Hi Ibrg9,

Factory resets do work, it's just a different procedure than for version 1&2.

What information have you been provided by the store? I apologise if it's different than what Jenny has said as this is definitely correct.
