VSS3 power light flashing and Users light amber

Since yesterday after working fine for over 6 months the power light is flashing and the Users light is Amber.

I have tried powering it off and on and checking the ethernet cable. The lights around the ethernet cable are on (green) and the yellow light is flashing suggesting a connection.  Also tried a reset but the lights return to the above state.

The failure looks as though it may coincide with a firmware upgrade to my Home Hub3.

Please close. Now working. It didn't help that in checking ethernet link I plugged it back into the wrong port og the VSS.
