VVS 2 failing to show as connected, on;y allowing one phone to connect.

Hi, I setup my VSS2 yesterday and initially it seemed OK. The first call I made wasn't of a particullay hi quality given that I had a perfect signal indicated on my phone (iPhone4). Ever the optomist, I added my wife's iPhone and Blackberry numbers but these failed to connect to the VSS. Yesterday evening I performed a 'hard reset' as described and then walked away.

This morning the VSS was only showing the power light, performed a reboot-normal sequence of flashing lights followed by only the power light.

De-registered the VSS and then re-registered, received the relavant text and email messages. Powered off and on, same response-only the power light on.

I then performed a packet capture using Wireshark, I will supply the trace if required but the web form won't allow me to add it. The trace shows the VSS connecting to Vodafone and then a tunnel coming up, after that all I can see is ESP traffice (to be expected given that a tunnel has been setup between my VSS and your servers.

Could you have a look remotely please?

VSS serial number is 40110925308. I've not bothered with the speed test as I'm on a Virgin cable link with more bandwidth than I can shake a stick at! Latency is also not a problem and given that my packet capture shows a tunnel coming up also indicates that this isn't an issue.

All port forwarding has been set up (Tunnel up proves this) I also placed the device a DMZ just in case - same results.

I contacted Vodafone initially and they said the box was faulty (before it had registered properly the first time round!) and this morning a return envelope for a mobile phone turned up!

I'd be grateful if this could be looked into.

Regards

Paul

Re: VVS 2 failing to show as connected, on;y allowing one phone to connect.

Update. VSS now connected to Vodafone and my iPhone is making a 'good' connection i.e.. full signal (haven't made a test call yet) however my wife's iPhone will not connect (she has had the confirmation text from Vodaphone).

Update 2! as I'm typing, the VSS has gone to reset mode, both flashing lights..........

Hey pcpaulh,

Thanks for keeping the thread up to date.

Has your wife's number managed to connect to the VSS yet? I can see the number is in the access list which would mean a signal should be received by the device. Is 3G enabled on the device?

If this is yet to be resolved, please delete and re-add the user and let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Lee

Hi Lee, I had to return it to Vodafone for 'repair' before the warranty ran out. As soon as I get a replacement I'll try again.
