Solution

Version 3 (Power-flashing, Internet-solid orange, In Service-solid orange, In Use-solid orange)

This thread has been created to discuss and troubleshoot the version 3 Sure Signal when the light sequence is as follows:

  • Power: Flashing
  • Internet: Solid Orange
  • In Service: Solid Orange
  • In Use: Solid Orange

Cause

This light sequence indicates the Sure Signal's not active because the router is not configured for PPPoE (Point to Point over Ethernet).

Troubleshooting

Please check the usernames and passwords for your router. If these are correct and the symptoms continue, please contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for further assistance.

Thanks

My previous router was a Belkin F7D4401, and as it had been working OK with the V2 VSS i suspect it would have been fine if I had gone straight to replacing the V2 rather than upgrading my router.  However the Asus is a much better router - as it should be for the price - easily configurable, and with many more 'bells and whistkes'.
