Version 3 Sure Signal (Power - flashing, Internet - solid orange, In Service - off, In Use - off)

This thread's been created to discuss and troubleshoot the version 3 Sure Signal when the light sequence is as follows:

 

  • Power: Flashing
  • Internet: Solid Orange
  • In Service: Off
  • In Use: Off

 

Cause

 

This light sequence indicates the Sure Signal's not active and it has been unable to authenticate on the Vodafone network

 

Troubleshooting

 

Please restart your Sure Signal. If the symptoms continue please add the following details to this thread:

 

  • Your speed test results from here
  • Your ping test results from here
  • Your external IP address from here
  • Your Sure Signal serial number
  • The results of a traceroute

 

Traceroute command:

On a PC:

 

  1. Click on Start and select Run
  2. Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  3. A black box will appear
  4. In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
  5. Paste the output of this command into your reply

 

On a Mac:

  1. Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)
  2. Type 'traceroute 212.183.133.177'
  3. Press Enter

 

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Hi Andrew,

I'm working away for a few days but will check the lights when I get home.

Testing the Sure Signal on someone else's network involves a 17 mile drive so I'd rather avoid this!

Hi Andrew,

Since I returned home I have had no issues with the Sure Signal, however I've had the power off a lot over the weekend doing DIY and so the Sure Signal has not been on for a prolonged period of time. My wife told me that she had no signal on November 6th whilst I was away, she did not look at the lights on the Sure Signal unfortunately. I'm not going to be able to try it on someone else's connection so you're just going to get the light update if it goes wrong again I am afraid.

...and it was all going so well this week.

The signal booster has been dropping calls all evening and we've had to resort to using our landline, which is not acceptable.

The power light is flashing and the light on the left is glowing orange.

My Suresignal V3 is working for while and then dropping out with a flashing red light and solid orange internet light with the other two lights off. If I reset it it then connects again properly but does not last for long and certainly no more than a few hours. The results from the various tests are as follows:

Hello

 

I am having trouble connecting my Sure Signal.  It connects for a few hours, then drops out and then reboots.  I have read the various forums and tried port forwarding, factory resets etc.  but have had no success.  Today it has failed again and has had a red flashing power light and solid orange internet light all day.  I have carried out the tests your requested on this forum and attach the results below.

Hello. I have been using the Sure Signal since July with no issues but I am now having issues connecting. 

 

Here are the results from the tests
