Version 3 Sure Signal (Power - flashing, Internet - solid orange, In Service - off, In Use - off)

This thread's been created to discuss and troubleshoot the version 3 Sure Signal when the light sequence is as follows:

 

  • Power: Flashing
  • Internet: Solid Orange
  • In Service: Off
  • In Use: Off

 

Cause

 

This light sequence indicates the Sure Signal's not active and it has been unable to authenticate on the Vodafone network

 

Troubleshooting

 

Please restart your Sure Signal. If the symptoms continue please add the following details to this thread:

 

  • Your speed test results from here
  • Your ping test results from here
  • Your external IP address from here
  • Your Sure Signal serial number
  • The results of a traceroute

 

Traceroute command:

On a PC:

 

  1. Click on Start and select Run
  2. Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  3. A black box will appear
  4. In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
  5. Paste the output of this command into your reply

 

On a Mac:

  1. Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)
  2. Type 'traceroute 212.183.133.177'
  3. Press Enter

 

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Same for me. Its started working at some point this afternoon or evening.

I wonder what Vodafone fixed.

Our sure signal stopped working last Thursday
Both our iphones now have permanent no service
I have had no help when I phoned in they just said it was working and I have visited the shop three days in a row to exchange it and they have no units delivered.
We are losing business as we have had no service for a week now. I plugged the unit back in tonight to try it and still NO Service on both phones. I've followed all the troubleshooting, resets, re-register, hard reset handsets, modem reset. Something is wrong with the unit as it was never giving us a strong signal and I've never seen 3g on it since we got it in June but it sort of worked gave 2-3 bars when sat next to it.
The serial number is 42141612889
Please can someone advise please, it's the plug version, the lights indicate it is in 'Ready' state as per the instructions.

Having had flashing red and internet on for some time, I tried re-setting about 3 hours ago.

I now have solid red plus white flashing internet - this suggests it is still connecting. But after 3 hours ??

After re-setting this morning everything finally worked while I was out this evening - so probably 10-12 hours after the re-set. Thanks to all contributors for their support
