Version 3 VSS stopped working.

Version 3 VSS Lights (Power - flashing, Internet - off, In Service - orange, In Use - orange) 

 

Hello,

 

I have had a Sure Signal running for some time at one of our sites but in the last few weeks it has stopped working and showing the above LED status.

 

Nothing has changed at this site i.e. router or internet changes & all recomended ports are open.

Quick update...

 

I thought I would try the device at another site to make sure the v3 VSS was working ok, plugged it in and about 20 mins later it came up ready to use.

 

I have returned it back to the original site where the above info was taken & it still have the problem :Sad_face:

 

Im stuck as all port farwarding has been setup as per other posts & like I said above this has been working for a number of months & now stopped with no change to the router or network.

Hi Richard,

 

Thanks for testing this.

 

Your upload speeds are border line for what the Sure Signal requires.

 

We’d recommend you speak to your internet provider to see if they can improve this.

 

If you have several devices using the internet connection, it may be worth disconnecting them to see if the Sure Signal then works.

Thanks for the reply but we have had a Sure Signal at this site on the sme line since 2010, why would it stop working now? I was onsite yesterday & only had the Sure Signal connected to the router, no wireless or other cabled devices attached.

 

I know the line is quite slow but this is the same speed line we have had for years.

 

Does the trace route look ok?

RichardDell - Thansk for supplying this. We normally look for a download minimum speed of 4.03Mbps. Your Sure Signal last made contact with the server on 26/02/2014. 

 

Is it possible for you to try a different Ethernet cable please?

Network speed, I know it is lower that recommended but this has been working on this site for some time.

Were you able to use the Sure Signal at the other address?

 

I agree with what you're saying about the download speed, but when it's close to the minimum requirement this will have an impact.

 

I can see you performed a resync yesterday.
