Re: HTC One X wifi causing connection issues

Hi Lee. My old HTC Legend and a Blackberry Bold and an iPhone 4S all work fine.

  • Router manufacturer - NETGEAR
  • Router model - N300 - WNR2000v2 These on a FTTC connection via a Huwai FTTC VDSL NTE Box

  • ISP - Zen Internet FTTC
  • Download speed - 57.76 Mb/s
  • Upload speed - 15.39 Mb/s
  • Software version (On my phone?)- 1.29.401.11

I think this is a phone thing, not the Sure Signal as the data drops out whether you are near the sure signal or not. It's just catastrophic for calls if the data drops and you get dropped from the SS as you are then on a crappyor non existant 2G coverage for the rest of the call.

Hi jaxapierce,

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thanks

Re: HTC One X wifi causing connection issues

It seems that Lee is using his "Wally Reflector" at setting 11 here (Google it if you don't know what I mean).

Our Sure Signal works fine with an iPhone, but not with the lastest HTC One X. In fact, it kills the VF signal so effectively I've turned off the Sure Signal completely. A pathetic VF signal is better than none at all.

The problem is the Sure Signal box. It simply does not work with the HTC One X.

The HTC One X is a cool phone that lots of people will buy from VF. Therefore VF need to fix the Sure Signal problem before the trickle of complaints becomes a flood.

If VF are not working on a Sunday fixing this, they should be.

Upgrade Phone - No Signal

I upgraded my phone from a HTC Sensation, to a HTC One X (which involved upgrading from a SIM to a Micro SIM), have not changed my number, but now my sure signal doesn't work or pick up signal on the new phone.

I have tried adding my number, but told that the number is already set up.

Please help

Re: HTC One X not connecting to Sure Signal

Hi maddad,

If Wayne's advice above has not helped, can you confirm the following for me?

 - Have you changed SIM card?

 - Is the Sure Signal allowing other phones to connect?

 - What light sequence are you seeing on the Sure Signal?

 - What is the Sure Signal serial number?

Dave

Re: HTC One X wifi causing connection issues

Hi Dave

Don't waste your time looking at all possible causes. It's the Sure Signal box.

It won't work with the HTC One X.

I wonder what I'll get for it on eBay. At the moment it is a useful doorstop in this hot weather.

Oh - hold on a minute! Perhaps you should get users to report the min / max temperatures of the room containing the Sure Signal. Perhaps that's "the missing link"?

Re: HTC One X wifi causing connection issues

I forgot to ask if you'd managed to duplicate the error there.

You can borrow my Sure Signal box if you want.

Re: Upgrade Phone - No Signal

Hi JamieBish,

Welcome to the eForum from all of the team. :smileyhappy:

When it comes to the removing and adding your number to the Sure Signal, you can only do this if that number is not the owner, simply transfer the ownership to a different number on there that has an online account, remove your number and then add it back in.

Once done you can then transfer the ownership of the Sure Signal back to you.

Alternatively you can also deregister the Sure Signal and then register it again after 24 hours where it will then pick up the new SIM setup.

Give this a go and let us know how you get on.

James

Re: Sure signal not working on new phone

Hi

I just upgraded from a HTC Desire HD (which worked fine on my SS) to a HTC One X and it won't work with the SS. Can't get a 3G signal at home at all. I have called support and they claim to have registered my new micro-SIM against my SS but it makes no difference. I have tried resetting etc. but noting, and I know 3G is working on my device. It's also impossible to manage my SS online as the web interface doesn't work correctly - a know problem I'm told but no idea when it will be fixed??

I do get exasperated with VF as it always seems to take so long to fix problems that really shouldn't be problems - I have a list going back several years.

The only thing that keeps me going with VF is that fact that I have forked out for a SS to provide me with the coverage I need - cvoverage that VF SHOULD provide as I don't live in the middle of no-where - but now even that isn't working.

Re: HTC One X - full signal/zero signal

I also have the same or similar problem. I'm not sure whether it's related to my Sure Signal or the phone itself. The trouble is the Vodafone signal here is so poor that if I  turn off the Sure Signal I can't be sure whether having no service is due to phone or the poor reception I receive.

Most of the time I get a very good signal (with the VSS) but then a couple of times a day I'll notice that I have no service.

I am on 1.28.161.9. I am hoping that when 1.29.161.9 - when it becomes available - may fix this problem. My VSS Serial number is 21197194919.

Re: htc ons s will not connect to sure signal

I received 2 new HTC One S upgrades this week for my son and daughter. Previously we had no problem with their old phones connecting to VSS.  Unfortunately neither of these connect and have no signal in the house.  Any helpwould be greatly appreciated.
