Vodafone Sure Signal

Hi The lights on the sure signal are the power and the system lights both solid but the phone still isn't connecting to the device.

I've done a further de register and left it an hour or so and re registered he device and also restored the iPhone firmware but still no luck. Not sure if the device is faulty in terms of transmitting a 3G signal. The phone picks up a public 3G signal perfectly fine elsewhere so can't see it being the phone

Thanks for getting back to us.

To be honest it could be a Sure signal issue however the quickest way to eliminate this would be to register a different number and phone on the sure signal to see if it picks up the 3G signal or if it remains on the normal macro network.

Please can you give this a go and let me know how you get on so we can advise you further.

Ok, We used to have an old suresignal which my wife's old iPhone 3g connected to ok, she finally bit the bullet and upgraded to an iPhone 4S and suprise suprise, it didn't connect.  We though we'd buy the latest version and again, suprise, suprise, it didn't connect.

I have followed all of the suggestions over the past 11 pages and guess what, none of it works.  Really, Really ###### off,  The iPhone is a day old, the suresignal is less than 24hrs old.

If it helps, my suresignal s/n is 40120505678 can someone manually reset it.

And for the record, I have tried standing on one leg, holding the iPhone in my left hand, whilst picking boges with my right, balancing a tea tray on my head, this is the biggest crack of ###### ever, FACT.  Funnily enough, my Windows phone connects first time every time no matter what I do.

Right, half sorted.  De-registered the sure signal, created an new my account for the iPhone 4s and registered the iPhone as the 'owner' of the sure signal and hey presto it works  however, this it would seem has now screwed it for my windows phone.... will have to work on it later but i suppose at least we know it will connect to the sure signal.

Thanks for your post. I have performed a resync of your Sure Signal as requested. To complete the process please perform a factory reset as follows:

• Hold the reset button till all the lights come on or flash (about 30 seconds)
• Keeping the reset button held, remove and re-insert the power lead
• Once all the lights come back on or flash, release the reset button
• The VSS will come online within the hour

I have a iPhone 4 that connects perfectly to my Sure Signal. I cannot comment on the 4S as I don't have one  but given that the SS produces a full 3G signal I doubt that it could be described as a weak signal. It must by definition be a very strong 3G signal.

Also my 4 switches perfectly between 2, 2.5 and 3G so there should be no reason why the 4S should not do the same.

I've looked at the Apple discussiosn forums and there are threads with people saying they are having problems with femtocells (the generic name for devices like the Sure Signal) and just as many people, like me, that don't have a problem.

In other words there is no definitive evidence that a widespread problem exists. I fully appreciate that none of this cures your specific problem and it means that finding an answer is not going to be easy. Good luck dealing with VF and their tech teams.

We have had a few customers reporting this issue however it has been resolved by removing the number from the access control list then adding it back in through your online account.

@ Pat182, I can see that your Sure Signal has updated on the server this morning, please can you test this again and let me know how you get on.

@ Reitsy, please can you give the above a go and also let me know the Sure Signal serial number so we can look at this for you.

My wife has just joined Vodafone and purachsed an iPhone4s but it won't connect to the Sure Sugnial. All other phones in the house (HTC) work absolutely fine.

For the love of god please get this sorted,

My iphone 4s will not connect with my suresignal.

I have tried holding in the reset button for 30 seconds etc etc and aslo swithched the phone onto airplane mode but still no joy!

My blackberry 9300 works fine no probs at all but the iphone, well I won't swear.

The serial no of my ss is 40120930512

Not a happy chap, please help.

To rectify this you'll need to de-register your Sure Signal via the Sure Signal Dashboard in My Account. Then register your device again with the numbers and they should connect to the device.

Could you also confirm that the iPhone's are running on the latest firmware iOS 5.1.1?

I have a new iPhone 4s which is not connecting to the SS box. All other devices are connecting and have stable signals. So far I have tried the airplane on /off Changing network selection to manual , selecting alternative and putting back to Vodafone etc. Removed the phone number as user, added again. Hi Bishopstone1,

You don't mention how new the iPhone is or if there was a SIM swap involved. With any adding of a number, whether it's a new number or removed and re-added for a SIM change, the number doesn't reconnect immediately.

I've performed a re-sync of the Sure Signal for you to make sure it picks up the number change. If the issue persists, can you perform a factory reset of the box for me?

• Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
• Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
• Once all lights display release the reset button.
• The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Tech Team Wizards, I am having a problem with my SS: my Blackberry 9900 connects and has 5 bars of 3G but my new iPhone 4S will not connect.  I have read through this thread and tried all the suggestions to no avail.  Grateful if you could look on your 'system' and resync the SS for me.  I'd be grateful for any other advice or actions that I need to take in order to get my iPhone to connect.  The box number is - 41113738755.  Many thanks, Rob.
