It's working! Hooray! I didn't see your post Trev but it just started working! For the record, something else I did that may have helped is I went to Settings/General/Reset on the iPhone and reset network settings.

Fingers crossed that that is the problem solved once and for all. I'm off to my basement for a call to celebrate!

Still have having intermittent problems here, Both phones appear to be connected but i dont think they always are.

Tonight i was trying to contact my wife who was in the house and i was at work, in the end i just phoned the house landline cause all i kept getting was her answer phone.

does not seem to have made any difference to my 4s connecting to my vss I still have lights 12&4 on solid have reset network on phone and tried airplane mode lots of times but still no luck please help as I am finding it very hard to make calls from home thanks

The VSS itself went to pot after I degistered it and registered it, following advice on this forum. Shortly after that it refused to connect and has never worked since. Even after registering it I'm getting emails and texts from Vodafone saying they have no location info for it. So I've degistered it again and left it deregistered. I'll register it again in a couple of days to let any network cacheing or whatever do its job. I must say though, this "upgrade" is a definite downgrade. Wish I'd stuck with the 3GS. At least it worked with the VSS.

niallmccoll, dah41 and rosscoldi - I've resynched your sure signals. If you can try again, then factory reset if the problem persists and, if still affected after 24 hours, then de-register and re-register for me, and let us know if things are sorted for you then that would be great.

ayiphone - let us know how the latest deregister/reregister goes

mitch111uk  - Can you try deregistering and reregistering for me and let us know how that goes?

I re-registered it today - still doesn't connect to the vodafone network and now I'm getting emails telling me vodafone think it's moved! They claim it's moved from the original postcode, which is incorrect. How on earth can I sort this endless VSS problem?

My original SS failed last week, just as my wifes Iphone 4 arrived. Ive just recieved a new SS and whilst my 3G 3GS and blackberry work ok on the new box the 4 doesnt. Bit concerned now as my. 4s is on backorder and the only way to connect is via the SS. Any suggestions?

I've just been told by Vodafone that the sure signal network for the entire UK has been down for the last week and they will phone me in the next hour once it's back up. I suspect this is just not true and is a ruse to get me off the phone. I've had this thing resynced three times, factory reset three times and reset a thousand times. It still fails to connect to the vodafone network and the information I get from this forum is contradicted by the information I get from the telephone 'support'. I'm always fobbed off with 'we must resync then it will work' and they hang up. Is this as good as customer support gets with vodafone?

Firstly there has not been any nationwide outage of the Sure Signal.

When it comes to the “you’ve moved message” you will need to register the postcode to another address and then change this back, it will then stop the notifications that it has moved.

I have checked your serial number and can see that everything looks OK from this side.

However, we have re synced the device, please can you test this again and if it still doesn’t work let us know as we will need to raise this to our support teams for further investigation.

Firstly to look at this we will need you to try the following;

Remove the number and add this back in,

De register and register the sure signal again.

Perform a reset on the sure signal by holding the reset button in for 30 seconds.

Give this a go and let me know how you get on.

Hi All,

yo may also be interested to look at THIS  post whch has a long standing trail behind it around IpHone and VSS connection poblems, made worse by IOS5 upgrade.

3rd line advise there may be some light at the end of the tunnel, but lets hop its not a train

Update,
Sitting next to the sure signal just now and I've got no signal or as the iPhone says no service
Vss has has power and signal light on.
WHAT IS GOING ON???

We really need some help here???

Well according to Vodafone support there was a week long outage of the UK VSS network. That's what they said. Anyway, they're sending me a new VSS as apparently, after more than a week with no connection it apparently has a software problem, whatever that means. So I'm looking forward to my new VSS. We shall see, is all I'll say on this endless mess. Some upgrade.

Same trouble here, no connection t all between my VSS and iPhone 4s. Worked perfectly this morning with my BB 9900. SS serial number is 40113153296.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As recommended, deleted and added the new SS, full reset and added the numbers again, exactly the same, everything connects other than the i4.

SS serial is 40113185710

Although I do note the issue linked in th eother thread with ios5 and the i4

Can you suggest anything else?
