They may be talking about the 2 over the original.

But in answer to your question, the 3 is due "soon"

Ahhh the plug in one that looks a bit like a power line adapter is going to be classed as v3 then. Cheers for that

Hi There

Please could someone help me set up a SS3 with my new router. I can access the set up page for the router to make changes but i am unsure of what to do. It is not connecting to register at present.

Best wishes

Chris

Hi Parkesie56,

We don't have the directions for setting up routers - there are too many available for us to have all the information to hand. You can usually get this direct from the manufacturer or their website.

There could be a number of reasons it can't connect, though. Please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread. If that doesn't help,  can you confirm the following information?

  • Your Sure Signal serial number
  • The light sequence you're seeing on the front of the Sure Signal.
  • Your speed test results from here.
  • Your ping test results from here.
  • Your external IP address from here.

Can you also post the results of a traceroute for me?

On a PC

  • Click on Start and select Run
  • Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  • A black box will appear.
  • In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
  • Paste the output of this command into your reply.

On a Mac

  • Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)
  • Type traceroute 212.183.133.177 and press Enter
  • Paste the output of this command into your reply.

That'll help us see if there's anything obvious blocking the connection.
