What should I see at a friends house?.... I have three lights on. My friends have a great mobile signal so should the phone light come on?

Hi andigoodman,

If everything’s connected and working fine, the ‘in use’ light will come on when you make a call.

If that’s not lit up, let us know what lights you are seeing.

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi just lights 1 2 and 4. I mentioned earlier that it was intermittent ... I don't think that's the case... Think it's just my normal mobile signal being picked up occasionally as there is no 3G

Hi andigoodman,

I see from the earlier posts that you have changed your router.

Please ensure the following ports are open on this.

Ports to be opened for forwarding

  • 8 (TCP & UDP)
  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall

  • 183.133.177-179
  • 183.133.181-182
  • 183.131.128-191

I can see it's registered successfully, so once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset:

  • Unplug the ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

Hi ok will check this. I have put the previous router back on now. Both routers have in the past worked with this SS box though

Done all that now and still nothing. Both of these routers have worked fine with this box in the past.
How do I get this thing fixed?

Hi andigoodman,

Have you tested this at a different location?

The lights you’re seeing mean there’s either no, or very little internet connection, which is something due to your ISP (internet service provider).

Testing this on a different connection will help determine if this is the issue.

Thanks,

Jenny

Inexplicably all working now. Been away for 3 days and now it's all fine.
Although i'm pleased its working I'm a bit concerned that I've been without it for a month and still don't really know what the problem was...

not working AGAIN:(

ok so nothing has changed with my setup but it is now no longer working...does this kit have a one month on and one month off way of working....does this need another re-sync???

Hi @andigoodman,

Your Sure Signal is running an old firmware version. This is likely to be causing the issue.

I've requested an update for you. Please keep the Sure Signal plugged in and don't perform any resets. After 24 hours, any phones connected to the Sure Signal will need to be turned off and back on.

You'll then be back up and running.

Thanks,

Kay
