sure signal v2 steady power flashing system phone light off

Hi there.

I have had my SS v2 (Seriel no. 40120245010)for a while, (bought 2nd hand) now but cannot seem to get anything i try to work. the strange thing is as the title suggests i have steady power but flashing system and no phone light. in the troubleshooting post it gives help if you have different combinations of lights showing etc, but not for a flashing system light alone so i am really struggling with this now and don't really know where to start.

Can someone even point me in the right direction. it was definitely de-regestered ok and i am certainly registered fine with it now. All i have been able to do is change the Ethernet cable and reset it but with it just resorting to the same state with the flashing system light. what information do you need on your end? obviously serial number but anything else?

Maybe i just bought a faulty one but do not want to shed out for a new one if this one works, anyway not doing to good with this so any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi scott_shot67,

This light sequence that you are stating, points toward there is a fault with the Vodafone Sure Signal device.

Please try the Sure Signal in a different location?

If this doesn’t change, you’ll need to buy a new Vodafone Sure Signal, see here.

Cheers,

Laura

ok so this may not be in the right place but since last post i have purchased the v3 and binned the faulty second hand v2. Now the problem is my v3 has been connecting for a few days now, i think the problem is i havent deregesterd the v2 when registering the v3.

The seriel number of the v2 is 40120245010 you can check if this is still registered or my v3 is.I do not have v3 SN to hand but if any other are registered to my number then that will be it.

Of course that may not be the problem and it may be something you can see your end, either way please please help me sort this out all i am looking for is a signal in my home.

May I ask are you using a virginmedia superhub to connect your suresignal

No Steve im connected to BT infinity. i would expect the sure signal to be compatible with both.

@scott_shot67

I can see that the serial number provided is still registered, and the number associated is not registered with another device.

Please ensure that the BT HomeHub has the Smart setup disabled in the router settings to allow a connection.

If you're still having difficulties, please follow the original steps posted above.

Ah ok as I know that you had to change a setting in the firewall setting on the virginmedia superhub to allow to suresignal to see the hub on the virginmedia superhub settings under firewall I had to tick the ipsec pass through to allow it to work my be the same on the infinity hub not to sure
