I recently bought a VSS v1 from ebay and amd trying to register it to my account. I have been trying for the past 48 hours to register but i keep getting the folloing error:

Sorry we are not able to process your request because of following errors in your form.

  • Sorry, we're having a technical problem at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes.

I have a confirmation email from Vodafone support (via the previous owner) saying that it had been successfully deregsiterd from previous owner's account.

Re: unable to register VSS

Hi

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thanks

Matt

Hi there tezza1980,

Thanks for your post.

If this is not yet resolved, please could I take the VSS serial number from you?

Cheers,

Lee

Re: unable to register VSS

Hi tezza1980,

Unfortunately the Sure Signal is already registered and showing as suspended which means that you are unable to register this to your online account.

I would recommend contacting the seller to arrange a return of the product as we are unable to un-suspend or deregister the Sure Signal for you.

Re: unable to register VSS

[ Edited ]

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The seller has forwarded an email from your customer services department (ccare.webmails@help.vodafone.co.uk) on 4th June 2012 at 20:34 confirming that the suresignal has been deregistered.

the email subject line contains the reference #9195660

the email body contains the following:

Thank you for contacting Vodafone Customer Services to deregister your sure signal from your account.

I have checked your account and can see that sure signal is deregistered from your account.

For more information, you can contact our sure signal team on 08454 402104 or contact our technical team on 08700700191 from land line number or 191 from your mobile phone and press, option 2 and then option 2, between 10am-5pm. The team there will be happy to assist you further.

I trust this information is helpful.

Kind regards,

Roopaljeet (surname removed for security)

Vodafone Customer Services

I'd be really grateful if you could recheck and confirm whether it is in fact still registered or whether it has been unregistered. I'm happy to go back to the seller, but given that they have provided some evidence that suggests they have done their part I'd like to be sure of the facts before i do so. She has told me that she no longer holds an account with Vodafone.

thanks

Re: unable to register VSS

Hi theretezza1980,

Many thanks for your post.

Unfortunately de-registration and suspension is two different things. We will need to replace the device and we can only arrange this with the original owner of the VSS.

Please ask the seller to consider a return and then ask him/her to contact us, right here on the eForum if needs be, and we'll get this arranged.

Cheers,

Lee

Re: unable to register VSS

thanks. so if the seller agrees to a return, will you arrange a replacement with them so that they can then send to me?

Re: unable to register VSS

Hello, I am the previous owner. I am still unsure why this has to be done as I have been told a number of times now both before and after I sold the item by Vodafone customer service that there is no reason another person cannot register the sure signal box? I am happy for the item to be returned and a replacement issued if you can guarantee a replacement will be sent even though my contract has now been terminated?

Re: unable to register VSS

Alicia182 and tezza1980

Unfortunately, as the original seller is no longer a Vodafone customer we're unable to arrange exchanges on cancelled accounts. It is correct that a Sure Signal can be de-registered by the original owner and then registered elsewhere, However, if the Sure Signal lies dormant and is not connected to the network for a considerable period of time then we're unable to lift the suspension.

Therefore, as the Sure Signal in this particular instance is dormant we wouldn't be able to arrange an exchange.

Thanks

Simon
