v1 suresignal - failed to provide a 3g signal for weeks

I've tried power cycling it, holding the reset button down and doing a power cycling and left it powered down for a few days.

It is just showing the top (power) light as solid green.  All my phones just get Vodafone E(xtra crappy?) signal.

It responds to a ping:

For a device which is 100% managed by vodafone, can someone explain to me why an electrical item, with no moving parts has failed?

I have Netgear switches which go back 10+ years and they still work properly.... so why does a vodafone branded piece of equipment fail so quickly?

and what is even more amazing.... Vodafone think my suresignal is active, when infact it is turned off and sitting in a cupboard.

Epic.

@mbames

As will all electrical products fault can develop, this isn't something that we can control.

Quality control and decent design can help to minimise electrical faults, however you have missed the main point of the last post.  The website was reporting that my Suresignal was active and working, when we all know it hasn't been for the last few weeks.  Thus maybe some of your website engineers need to investigate why your website is reporting a Suresignal is active when it is turned off (and thus not active).  This is totally confusing for customers, and can only lead to additional unhappy customers.
