Hi, I bought the lumia 710 from voda shop 2 days ago and I placed my contract sim in it but I am unable to get Internet connection or email through the 3G service. I can only get it if I am using wi-fi. I have spoken to voda and they sent me pan settings but this did not work. I then went into the shop and they have not managed to sort it out. The chap in the voda store said there was a known Nokia server issue and said it was the same for the other lumia he tried in the back. He said ey received a bulletin about this and Nokia and voda are sorting out a patch. I am not sure if this is true and believe this may be a faulty phone. I have searched the bet and no one else has mentioned this problem on any sites or forums. Can someone please help me with this.

Its typically a SIM issue, Nokia actually have an app that lets you select network settings that you could always try. If that does not work perhaps trying to take out the SIm and put it back in again.

If that does not work then wiping the device and starting again would be the only other suggestion really.

I bought a PAYG 710 about 3 weeks ago and at that time they did not have any micro SIM cards for this phone.  Initially they gave me an iPhone SIM which was not totally compatible and did not allow internet access.  I went back to the shop and they rang the Technical Department and after 45 mins they got it working in a fashion. 

Still not satisfied I went back two days later and by this time they had the correct SIM in stock, the difference was remarkable.  Get the right SIM and hopefully you can also enjoy this phone.

Has anyone with this phone had a problem with sending a photo text?  I can compose the text and attach the photo but it will not send, it just keeps coming up with the message "Try again".  The chap in the shop said that the other 710 in stock had the same problem and that it was a problem with the software.  Can anyone assist with a solution?

It is important to have the right SIM for your device, please can you ensure that the APN are correct for your device, if this has not resolved your query please can you ensure you back-up all of your nformation and perform a factory reset.

Thanks very much for your comments. 

Not being that confident about carrying out your recommendations without cocking it up, I took the phone into the local Vodafone shop with a printout of your instructions.  After an hour, the staff finally admitted defeat and issued me with a replacement phone which works perfectly.

I had problems backing up the phone on Zune.  I'm not sure where the information from the phone is now stored on my laptop and then the program started downloading all the photos on my laptop to the phone.  I managed to cancel the action before several thousand images were transferred. 

Where can I find an idiots guide to using Zune and the synchronisation setup?
